Everything was absolutely fantastic. Staff were wonderful. Food was exquisite! Great wine list. The only thing I was upset about was that I didn't have room for dessert....they sounded amazing! Next time!

Stoked is amazing! From start to finish, our meal was unreal. We had all vegetarian dishes, and it's so wonderful to find a place that doesn't just offer a stir-fry or curry. The choice was great, I've never had an aubergine that tasted so good, and I can't stop thinking about the cauliflower wings. Shane, the owner, was great at coming over and seeing if everything was OK. We were asking about gluten-free options for a family member, and there's loads of choice, and it isn't cooked with the non gf items. A trip back is planned already. Don't even think about visiting, just go. It's one of the best places in Sligo.

Fantastic dinner the other night. The menu is so different. I was sceptical at first as to how they can do sushi, basque, sri lankan dishes etc etc without messing something up. They nailed every dish. We ordered six or seven dishes between four of us. I cannot say which I like the best. Would love a place like this in Dublin! The staff were lovely too. We'll be back.

Stoked is an absolute must-visit in Strandhill for anyone who appreciates creative, high-quality dining in a unique setting. The atmosphere perfectly captures the relaxed surf culture of the area, but the food is pure fine dining. Tucked away upstairs from the Strand Bar, the climb is definitely worth it for the culinary experience that awaits. The menu, while not extensive, is incredibly well-balanced and thoughtfully curated. We opted for a selection of seafood sharing plates, and every dish was a revelation. The Sligo oysters were incredibly fresh and served with both a classic lemon and a delicious Mexican sauce, allowing for two different, yet equally delightful, tasting experiences. The scallops were perfectly seared and wonderfully tender, and the baby squid was light and crispy. A definite highlight and a "must-try" is the Haddock Bao Bun. It was a surprising and fantastic combination of crispy fish, fresh mint, and a lovely sauce, all wrapped in a soft steamed bun. For dessert, the chocolate and honeycomb soufflé was a fantastic finale—rich, airy, and the perfect end to our meal. They also have excellent meat and vegan options, along with daily specials, so there’s always something new to try. The staff at Stoked were incredibly friendly and attentive, even though the place was packed. Despite the full house, the service was quick and efficient. As a final touch, we loved taking our drinks out to the terrace for a breath of fresh air and some evening breeze vibes. It's a perfect spot to enjoy the coastal air. The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday, and it's definitely worth booking a table in advance. Stoked truly is a hidden gem that delivers a fantastic dining experience.

This place is amazing... They managed to fit us in after rocking up without having a reservation, and boy am I so glad they did. We had the prawns to start which were delicious, flavoursome, with a slight kick, for mains I went for the rump steak and fries, I asked for the steak rare and it was cooked to perfection. My friend had the rack of ribs which to me were the star of the show, thankfully he shared, they were melt in the mouth and coated in an unreal sauce. To top it off for dessert I had the cheesecake, my mate a strawberry pastry, food coma ensued, we rolled ourselves back to the campsite. A must visit, with its friendly staff, and unreal food at a reasonable price I could not fault this place, a hidden gem and a must visit if in the area.

Went here with friends. The food was all nice but some dishes were quite expensive for tapas eg. €17 for 3 scallops. The Basque Cheesecake was beautiful as a dessert and we had it crème brûléed too, so I recommend to save room and try it. Service was a bit slow at the start but when the food started to come out it flowed fine. One issue was that our white wine was not chilled and given in a wine bucket that wasn’t chilled or had any ice in it. When this was brought to the attention of the waitress we weren’t offered another chilled wine and she just gave us ice for the bucket. It really did take away from the experience to not have properly chilled white wine with the meal. Overall though nice food.

There’s no better place to eat and have a great time! Chilled, friendly staff and top-quality food. Always consistent — and somehow, every time we come, it just gets better and better.

Shells Cafe

10/10/2025: Shells is always our favorite spot in the Strand. We haven't been for a while since we moved to the SouthEast and they've done it up since last, but still the same great feel. Bustling on a Thursday afternoon, jammed lunchtime, which is a credit to any place these days. This was a ' for old time's sakes ' visit and still felt just as good as the memories.
02/10/2025: I’ve eaten here a few times over the years & hope to be returning a few more times. Smallish café in a prime location in Strandhill. The food is reliably delicious & the smoothies are exceptional. As far as I know you can’t book. Understandably, it always seems to be crowded, & the friendly staff rush around efficiently. (One quibble: plastic straws in 2025?!)

The Venue

24/09/2025: Thankfully they were open on a Monday evening, the food was good, priced a little high but we're grateful they're open for business. The staff was very helpful, despite being quite busy.
