Stonechat in Killarney

This place came locally recommended and did not disappoint. We had the seafood chowder and the steak and both were top notch. Nearly the entire menu is gluten free and locally sourced.

Unbleviable three course dinner! My partner and I came here for the first time after completing Quest. The service was impeccable. Great attention to detail, warm and friendly staff, with beautiful dishes! Would highly recommend the following dishes: bruscetta, prawns (starters), steak, seabass (mains) and cheesecake, chocolate fudge cake (desserts). My goodness, each dish was just incredible. I would highly recommend Stonechat. Thank you to the staff Maia, Suzzannah, Lauren, Catriona, and Carolina. You were all so professional and warm with your welcome. I had even asked for extra mash potatoes with my seabass, and without hesitation, it was accommodated. Sincere thank you for such a wonderful dining experience!

Lucky to get a Saturday booking but welcomed warmly. Great buzz, nice tunes in background. Took a while for food to deliver but the restaurant was hopping. Shared super quality spicy Wings. Had a nice Chardonnay. I ordered fillet medium rare with onion/mushroom base with side of mash potato which I think Roger is famous for!! I’d rattle him a Michelin plaque on that alone. She had a beautifully crisp and hot pan-fried Sea Bass with light sides. Sublime. Against all rules we shared a Tiramusu, which we Googled to mean “a pick up”. It was delicious with perfect moisture and a nice vanilla ice to accompany. Service was lovely, warm and friendly. Particularly Caithriona and stand-in barman Karim. I have known chef Patron Roger all my life. There may be bias, but if you want wholesome food, competitively priced in a very casual surrounding, then check out Stonechat off High Street, Killarney. Happy to say, I never had a bad meal here.

Oct 2024. Great quality of food. Ambience outstanding. Service staff very attentive. 5 stars in all areas. I personally recommend the 8 OZ fillet steak. The taste is excellent and the price is absolutely reasonable. Thank you Stonechat

One of the best stops we had on our road trip. On our stroll through Killarney we found this place by chance. We were really lucky! The food was amazing! Especially the sticky toffee pudding for dessert was sooo delicious. Highly recommend!

Having dinner at Stonechat was a happy accident! Went to see what was down the alley and found this great place! Food was great and the staff was fun and really attentive - found us a table without a reservation. The inside is full-on Irish, which made it such a wonderful dining experience!

We were in this great restaurant at the beginning of September. Even though we hadn't reserved a table, we were offered a great place. The service team was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food, whether vegetarian or fish, was excellent. Would come back immediately. Kind regards from Austria. Hans Peter

Good atmosphere, food is very good, friendly service, good value for money!

Kind of a hidden gem of a restaurant. Nice dining room, warm and comfortable on a cool evening in Killarney. I had delicious mushroom soup, with thick brown bread, and an excellent Greek salad. My grandson ate the same salad, a delicious Ribeye steak, and Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Charlotte, our server, was excellent. Friendly, attentive, just right for our taste.
