Ate here 3 out of the 4 nights I stayed in Castlemaine, while I explored the Dingle Peninsula. I ate at a very "well-known" fish and chips place in Dingle, and they didn't stand a chance in comparison with the fish and chips at The Anvil. Well done π βοΈ π.

We had a wonderful stay at the Anvil Bar. The location is fantastic for exploring anywhere in Kerry, from Dingle to Killarney or even Beara if you want to drive a bit further. Many thanks to Liz for always having time for a chat, sharing all the best spots with us, and making us feel at home away from home!
Can really recommend a stay at the Anvil bar. We stayed there for a week and we never got bored. The lovely hostess Liz always greets you in the morning with freshly made breakfast (you can choose your breakfast for the next day) and always knows special places to visit in the area. Even though she is very busy she will always take time to think along and guide you to the nicest spots. She is very caring about her guests (so please let her know if you are coming late in the evening) and has a heartwarming soul full of Irish stories.

Great irish countryside authentic experience. The staff was very friendly and made us feel so welcomed - shout out to Liz who was a great host and a pleasure to talk to.
The pub serves a great pint of Guinness and delicious food - although the kitchen closes at 8pm, which caught us off guard.

Stayed one night in The Anvil Bar. Great atmosphere and live music in the bar. Rooms were lovely and clean. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and great portions. Service was excellent in the restaurant, staff were attentive and very friendly. Liz was lovely and welcoming. She gave us loads of ideas for our trip round the Dingle Peninsula. Would definitely stay again π

We happened to pass the bar on our way from Dingle to Kilorglin. The bar looked beautiful and I had to stop to take a picture, little did I know I would end up buying a fridge magnet to remember the place by. Awesome bar man talked sports after giving us an amazing single malt Dingle distillery whiskey plus a gift. Great vibe and a must stop.

Five stars isnβt even enough for the service that is offered in this lovely place. The bar is quick to serve and the food is absolutely amazing. Staying a few nights here was a refreshing escape into the Irish countryside and I truly felt at home for my four days here. Itβs situated in a very convenient area between Killarney and Dingle and is only about 15 minutes from the airport. I believe that this place is best suited for well-mannered adults since the walls are rather thin. Fortunately, all of the guests were aware of this and were polite during their stay. It was a quiet and comfortable four days. I also have to mention how strong the water pressure is and you donβt need a chemistry degree to have a comfortable shower. I highly recommend stopping by at least for some food. I know I will be back next time.
