The Bailey in Enniscorthy

A burger we got was so tough that we complained about it. Our server got the Manager and he actually put the knife into it at the table which was not good manners. The chicken was ok. Sorry, we won't be back.

Pleasantly surprised by this place. Have passed it so many times and didn't realise the food, service and atmosphere was so good. No complaints

The cardinal sin of any restaurant is for it raise expectations via its decor that its food then fails to match. The Bailey is a lovely venue with a crisp modern look accented by (on the evening we visited) tastefully positioned uplighters. It looks upmarket, plain and simple, setting a high bar for the chef to clear. Thankfully, the food is even better. It's rare that you can order such contrasting mains from an extremely varied menu and the restaurant gets it spot on. For example, the Thai curry was to the standard of a really good asian restaurant, and likewise the Lasagne was as good as any Italian restaurant that we have visited. My wife remarked that it was a shame that we visited the second night of our short break instead of the first, or we could have dined here twice and tried more off of the menu. That really sums it up in one sentence. The staff were excellent as well.
