Very nice ,local traditional bar, nicely decorated with old pictures of famous irish people. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and the service was prompt. It was a very busy evening but still got accommodated with a table fairly quickly. A good bustling atmosphere throughout the pub. Several TVs covered the various sporting events. The food itself was a little underwhelming. I ordered the ceasar salad, which was very nice, but the sauce was not the traditional ceasar sauce, maybe a variant or a 1000 island dressing or something similar. The chicken was nice and the salad fresh and well presented. Can't recall any cheese sprinkled on the salad. The children's pasta dish was nice but a bit shy on the pasta sauce, so it was a little dry, nice but a little dry. The chicken curry was very nice with lots of flavour. For desert, I got the Orange cheese cake, again not much flavour to it and very, very soft , almost cream like as it fell apart. Overall a very nice pub/restaurant with very nice staff , a girl named Summer served us and was really nice and helpful. The food was nice, and I'm probably being a bit picky with the sauces . All the other dishes that came out looked lovely.
We visited this restaurant yesterday as a family of 3 with our dog. There is an outdoor covered area which is dog friendly so that was a bonus. The kids menu is probably one of the best I’ve ever seen, with 9 mains on it covering chicken, beef, fish and veggie. It even including a 4oz steak for kids. My son ordered this and his steak was definitely bigger than 4oz. We ordered the cauliflower wings with lime and chilli sauce (I highly recommend), the Hawaiian burger and the chicken curry. All the food was really good. They don’t do wine by the glass - it’s either full size bottles or quarter bottles. The service was a bit rushed and slow, which might have been to do with the festivals in Burtonport and Dungloe. The staff were friendly though so we enjoyed our visit.
Back again here in 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed our food again. And they now do wine by the glass 😍
There is a small area left outside that is dog friendly if they are doing outdoor table service.

Tiny portion of fish, ordered special Monkfish, got 2 tiny pieces, very disappointing but the chefs reply was he thinks its enough, its not, offered free desert, dont want dessert, wanted a decent main and 2 tiny pieces of fish for near €30 wont bring us back

Fairly good starters: a lovely clam chowder and respectable muscles. Fairly good main course scallops with black pudding – it was interesting but not exciting. Absolutely executable Banoffee pie which was neither caramel nor banana, on stale biscuits. To give them that due they didn’t charge us for the desert after we commented on it.
Friendly service, and a football pub vibe.
