Excellent pint of Guinness, cozy, local, fun crowd, and attentive staff.

We had my Brothers 70th Birthday Party here Saturday night what a fantastic night from start to finish the staff were fantastic the barmen were so helpful and the food was beautiful compliments to the chef but I must say the DJ was absolutely fantastic he catered for us all and as my Brother loves country music he made his night so Thankyou to everybody.l personally had many functions here and would highly recommend booking here

Great atmosphere and excellent service

Arrived late on Sunday for carvery (14:30) and both ordered roast beef. Food was not much more than lukewarm. This isn’t the first time that has happened. Place was dead although there was rugby and soccer being shown there was no volume and no background music even so atmosphere was lacking. Maybe it was just a typical dreary day in January but not tempted to go back soon sadly.

One of the best places in Cork for me to sit down and drink some beer and eat some food. Have many good memories here.

Popped in to watch a match and had a great time! Pints flowing all night, perfect place to watch the game. Cillian in particular kept us well topped up in a friendly yet professional way! Cheers!

Anita pulls the best pints, always service with a smile

We were at the briar rose yesterday and I felt the need to write a review on the exceptional staff they employ. We had a late christmas family gathering and had drinks and had some food. The food was okay but the two bartenders behind the bar (Tom and Jerome) were absolutely exceptional. The pints they poured were some of the best i’ve ever had and the smiles never left their faces. 10/10 any bar would be lucky to have them.

Anita serviced us today, she was very friendly and kept checking up on our table and made us feel very comfortable there.. gold star for her ⭐️

Had a brilliant time in The Briar Rose – great atmosphere, top-quality drinks, and even better service. Huge shout-out to Tom behind the bar, who was an absolute legend all night. Super friendly, great chat, and really made the experience even better. Highlight of the night was finding out Tom is a massive Jamie Gittens fan, just like myself – always class when you meet someone who knows their football and appreciates real talent. That bit of banter just topped it off. Can’t recommend this place enough – if you’re in, ask for Tom and you’re guaranteed great service and good craic. Will definitely be back 👏🍻
