Honestly super service, great and cozy place. Food was very good and accommodated all of my requirements. Great place to visit!

Felt wrong to be a repeat customer for so many years and not review. Place is fantastic. Come in regularly for our D&D nights and the staff are always accomodating. Never had a bad experience with the menu. Highly recommend.

If you’re looking for a proper good burger, I’d definitely recommend the Jack Daniels, absolutely delicious! Fresh beef, made on the spot (no pre-made patties), great flavour and an amazing sauce. Highly recommended!

We didn't know what time their kitchen was open until, but we arrived at 20:55. The (wait staff..? folks walking around clearing tables) didn't greet us, but we caught the eye of a bartender and grabbed a table near the front. People at the tables near us were eating dinner, and one table seated after we arrived carried plates of food to their table. It became clear that the (wait staff) wasn't taking orders from the tables, so we went to the bar at 21:05 to ask if we ordered both food and drinks at the bar, and we were told they they just finished food for the evening (at 21:00) That would have been really useful information to have when we arrived; maybe if someone had greeted us either before, or immediately after sitting down..? The stout we ordered was good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I went with some friends recently to the dark horse, great place, food was excellent. I recommend getting the hot honey chicken burger was a great portion. Also they have a wide variety of cocktails so perfect for a girls night. Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff.

I just love this place so much. The food is amazing, the staff always friendly, great atmosphere. Is a must if visiting Athlone! 10 out of 10!!!

Came in for food and drinks with a couple of friends, the service we received was exceptional, they were so friendly and provided a lot of food options for people with allergies. We received our food relatively quick and it was outstanding cannot fault anything. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming and we got to watch the dart and football at the same time so everyone was happy. We proceeded then to have a game of darts and pool upstairs. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.
