Having read the reviews we decided to try The Everest Restaurant.
Food was as good as you can get and reasonably priced. Service was slow as they were catering for takeaway orders. This can be to your advantage as you can relax, enjoy the ambiance, without being rushed off your table.
We definitely will be back.
Lovely Restaurant in an old converted church. Well decorated bright interior with beautiful furniture and interesting pictures of Nepal and the Everest and Annapurna region. Staff were lovely but rushed off their feet on a busy Saturday night and it was clearly evident that takeaway orders were being prioritised over dining orders. Having said this food was uniformly delicious. We had onion bhajis which were crisp and generously sized, a butter chicken curry, a Nepalese chicken curry, pilau rice and a garlic naan bread plus some complementary poppadoms. The food was extremely enjoyable and definitely worth waiting for. However, my advice would be to leave plenty of time for your visit as we waited almost an hour for our starter and then it was another 25 minutes before the main course arrived. An alternative might be to try a different night in the week, which would be less busy on the takeaway front.
The food was very good; we were happy with our Indian experience here. The location could use some updating. I'm still giving it 4 stars, even though we had to wait almost 40 minutes for our dishes, because the food was excellent.
15/11/2025: I’m sorry to say that the Balti wasn’t very good and they forgot my rice on the order. The sauce was very watery, and another family member who ordered the Tandoori received what appeared to be the same chicken prepared the same way, just served with a different sauce, and again waterly ( They were not impressed). It was a real shame, as our expectations were high. Unfortunately, it felt more like a supermarket ready meal than a freshly prepared dish.
On a positive note, great nana enjoyed her meal, my sister loved her five spiced chcken with sweet and sour sauce, and the staff were genuinely lovely.
17/08/2025: We (couple) were looking for somewhere nice after doing a long cycle on the greenway. Of all the choices on the Main Street we stopped off in Olde Bridge. It was beautiful. Cosy setting, great service and really tasty food. We had a lovely evening.
