The Field in Kilkenny

Brilliant pub, great music from 4 till close . Brilliant atmosphere. And a big shout out to Charlie the barman, hes an absolute gem, an asset to any business. Hope to be back in kilkenny very soon.

We stumbled upon this cozy and friendly bar our first night in Ireland. We are American and were looking for a place to watch the American Football game. This bar had it on the TV towards the back. Although I can't speak to the food we did have some wonderful drinks and entertainment. We ordered a smith, a Guiness and plenty of Jameson gingers. All the drinks were great, but what made the experience was the live entertainment and the patrons of this bar. The patrons seemed to consist of many regulars or friends of the regulars. We met Charlie the bartender who was so kind to everyone including us. He took the time to talk to me about our trip and showed sympathy about the current political climate in the US. We also met other travelers and now have new friends. I recommend this bar if you are passing through Kilkenny and I hope to go back one day.

This little bar is so full of life. There was live music when I visited and people singing along to songs they knew. Loved the atmosphere. I don’t think they have food though.

A historical bar that loves sport. Alot of photos frames on wall and ceiling. A great pint of guiness also. Mad for Hurling.

We were there in the afternoon on October 22nd, 24. There was an older gentleman singing, the song was called Sonny's dreams and his voice was just beautiful, it's a shame that we didn't ask for the name and if there was a CD by him it would have been really nice, just a great singer .

El Field Bar fue nuestra primera experiencia en un pub irlandés en nuestra primera noche en Kilkenny! Este es uno de varios pubs, pero la música en vivo nos atrajo. Era pequeño, lleno y ruidoso, pero el ambiente perfecto para disfrutar de nuestra primera pinta de cerveza. La música en vivo fue genial!

Estuvimos allí la semana pasada. . muy divertido y comenzó temprano alrededor de las 6. El hombre mayor es muy interactivo con el público y hace que todos se levanten a cantar con él y el otro guitarrista más joven. ¡Le pregunta a todos de dónde eres y lo incorpora a su show! No creo que sean Fines de semana. Gran lugar!
