Lovely staff and great food selection which was served fast.

Lovely food, great staff, and usually a brilliant experience. I’ve eaten here a few times now and the food is always really lovely. The staff are nice, friendly, and welcoming, which makes the whole visit feel relaxed. If I had one small piece of feedback, it would be the kids’ burger — the meat just wasn’t great on this visit. But every other time I’ve eaten here, the food has been spot‑on. The pizzas have always been delicious, and I absolutely love the breakfast baps, especially with the fresh brioche buns. Overall, it’s a place I’m happy to come back to, and with just a tiny tweak to the kids’ burger, it would be perfect.

Very middle-of-the-road food at slightly higher than average prices. Nothing wrong with the food, but nothong special. Fish and chips were batter-heavy with shoestring (seemed to be frozen) chips. Fish tacos were underwhelming. It's a fine place if youre not looking for grade A dining. Service was friendly though and staff were nice. Very middle of the road, nothing wrong with that. 3/5 stars

We were a large group, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and we received excellent advice. We ordered a variety of dishes, from pizza and burgers to salad – everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The decor is simple, but everything works well together. We went back again the very next day. Highly recommended.

Little gem of a place. Good food and service

Staff couldn't be more attentive and helpful. Had lunch one day (homemade soup and 2 slices of thick wheaten bread) and dinner the following evening (pizza oven on-site, pizzas made fresh to order). Both meals were so tasty and reasonably priced. They provided a colouring book and crayons for our toddler too. Go raibh míle!

Absolutely loved this place, food was amazing, friendly & helpful staff who took the time to make our stay very enjoyable so went back on our second day 😉 Will definitely be back next time in The Downings 👌

We unfortunately went to this establishment at peak time so we're not able to get a table which just proves the popularity of the place. We ended up getting a "first Mate" burger to go... And we're genuinely impressed with the quality. We would go back anytime we are the Downings for more...

Visiting the area with family, we stopped in for lunch on Sunday, pizzas were fab, burgers delicious, kids goujons scrumptious, why not go back again. We returned on Tuesday it just was not the same, soggy pizza, overdone goujons & chips. If Tuesday was my first experience, I don’t think I’d return. On a positive note the staff were amazing on both occasions, very pleasant & helpful.
