The Grand Hotel in Tralee

lovely old hotel in the middle of town. fantastic staff, bar and breakfast.

Excellent stay at this hotel. Spotlessly clean with newly decorated room. Can't complain. Nice breakfast also. Friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant.

Hotel-motel! Nothing grand, personally I haven't been there yet, but judging by the faces of the people coming out of there, the service there is not the highest level... Well, for an amateur, so to speak...

Really enjoyed our stay in the Grand hotel Tralee Have to say our room was fabulous newly renovated bed really comfy with all essentials kitted out Food really good always busy and reasonably priced We felt very at home and would definitely return Whole team displayed a great sense of hospitality and service Thank you Carol and mick

The food was okay, but there were knives, ketchup packets, and fries on the floor. It's not like Grand Hotel.

Check in was nice and friendly and professional. There's no lift and we were the top floor but I was aware of this when booking but would be advisable for someone who isn't able for many stairs to request a lower level room. Room was spotless, very comfortable. My daughter even commented that the room is very fancy! The TV had a personalised message for me which I thought was sweet. Coffee machine and smart TV in the room. Breakfast was OK. A young, polite waitress greeted us at the door and told us to sit anywhere we liked so while we headed to a table, another waitress, an older lady, very grumpily called over to us: 2 people? Sit here! Which I didnt like. The buffet had a plentiful choice of juices, cereals, some fruit, yogurts but was disappointed that the only pastry was 2 croissants and a few scones. My daughter was excited for the buffet until she saw the lack of pastries. I ordered from the menu. I wanted the full breakfast and my daughter didn't like the options available so I asked can she have some fried eggs. Our plates arrived, my breakfast had a nice presentation, the eggs were cooked nicely, the puddings were delicious, soft and good quality. The rashers were tiny and the sausage was OK. My daughters breakfast arrived on a plate, the same size as my massive plate. With one lonely fried egg in the middle. I had to send it back and said she wants more than one egg, can I have 2 or 3 at least. The older waitress looked angry with me but she brought the plate back and returned it with the 3 eggs. The eggs looked really nicely cooked. Checking out was very cold. The lady on duty didn't ask me was everything OK, didn't thank me for my stay. I asked her can we leave our bags as our journey home wasn't until a few more hours and it's something I checked on the website if it was a service ye provided. She looked angry and said how long for, turned around and she looked at other guests bags that she already had. I felt awkward that I was asking this question and told her they are just 2 small back packs. I felt that she took them just to do me a favour when it's advertised as a service ye provide on the website. We went to the bar to pass some time while waiting for transport. The bar had a lovely busy vibe in there. They had many staff and they were very attentive to all the customers. The older gentleman serving was very nice and there was a lady serving, she looked like a manager or owner, she was lovely and she even noticed that my glass was empty and she asked me if I would like another drink. I declined as we were ready to leave but little things like this can make a big impression on returning guests. Overall I would return again as we did have an enjoyable stay.

Very good restaurant Recommended by an Irish woman

Very nice hotel, centrally located. We arrived a little early and were allowed to drop off our luggage. It was then brought directly to our room. The staff, from reception to housekeeping to service, were all very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a good size and very clean. Delicious dinner and a great breakfast.

Everything about this hotel was 10/10. The staff were so helpful, the food was gorgeous, the room was so clean. Even though there was no lift, it wouldn’t put me off staying there again.
