Lovely stay, the staff were so helpful and friendly. Great location as hotel close to everything. We enjoyed the cosy bar and traditional music session on Wednesday evening. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. It is a great place to relax as the hotel has lovely gardens and a view of the sea. Highly recommended

Excellent Hotel experience. Room was clean and well appointed. Food very good and staff service was first rate. Shout out to a staff member Margaret who is a credit to the hotel with excellent customer service. She even managed to source me a phone charger. Will stay there again when in Dunmore East.

The Haven Hotel Dunmore East
Parking at rear of hotel. 2 small Steps on entry to the hotel. To be expected with a building of this era, but easily manageable for buggies or wheelchairs.
Very tastefully decorated, with a great appreciation to the age of the building, yet little personal touches and additions let you know it's a family run hotel, as the personality shines through
Very light & airy, busy when i visited, giving the place a vibrant buzz of activity.
Everything was absolutely spotless, & even though major renovation work is still underway at the front of the building for their new underground function room, construction dirt was very minimal & confined to the worksite itself.
Impeccable. Greeted promptly by a smiling member of staff, seated without fuss despite the place being busy. Menus provided swiftly, & orders taken. We were told if we wished to have a refill of filter coffee, or tea pots, to just ask. A request which was honoured without a fuss. After 5 minutes of receiving the food, the server checked that we were ok for everything
Overall, the food was of good quality, but there was room for improvement. Namely the tomato which was a bit bland, the beans looked as though they had been microwaved in the little ramekin as there was a skin on the top, but they tasted alright. The White and black pudding was good quality, but the slices were at best only about 5mm thick. However, as I mentioned it was busy the day I called, and there is always an outside chance that they may have been running low, and economising, in which case, a thin slice of pudding is better than no pudding. I shall make a mental note to check this on a return visit, as it is a bit mean if it’s the standard offering. Toast was standard white sliced which was acceptable, but given the setting, maybe a better toast offering than white would be an improvement. Also worth noticing the menu made no mention of toast being included, although as with most places, it was, & plentiful.
€15 for the full Irish, which I would consider fair for what was received. At this time, I think any breakfast over €15 needs to be absolutely faultless & plentiful to be worth it.
Nothing else major to remark on except the irksome habit of spelling potato as Potatoe on the menu

REVIEW OF GIG IN KELLY'S FUNCTION ROOM
Was at Qween tribute band in the new Kelly's Room at the Haven Hotel. Band absolutely brilliant. It was a standing gig which meant that unless you were right up front you'd only get to see the band's heads. Seeing as Brian does a very good imitation of Freddie's stage presence and gestures ,you miss out on all this. Our bags were checked for any drink. Inside there is hardly anywhere to leave down your plastic drink glasses, so you have to hold them or put them on the floor. The air conditioning worked pretty well .Even though there was a good crowd, it didn't feel overcrowded. The stage in the marquee where they hosted bands previously was a better experience as it was higher and you could see better, even when people were dancing up in front of the stage.
I have to say the lack of visibility, the standing inside ( for three quarters of an hour longer waiting than advertised too) and having to hold our drinks for the night would put me off attending another gig there. All fixable issues though. The hotel did say that they'd provide a chair for you if you let them know in advance, but if everyone else is standing you get to see even less. The chairs were lined up against the back wall.

We got married in The Haven Hotel, in the brand new Kelly’s Room in June 2025. From our very first meeting with Karen, she couldn’t have been more amazing! The service was excellent, as well as the food. All our guests blown away by the new venue. Karen and Paul were so accommodating throughout the whole wedding planning process, and even more helpful on the day itself. We couldnt have asked for a nicer venue, with even nicer staff. Thank you so much to all at The Haven Hotel for making our day so fun and relaxed! Can’t recommend this place enough.
