The Hungry Monk in Greystones

Five of us had dinner at the Hungry Monk on a Saturday evening and had a superb experience. We were seated at a lovely round table and received first-class service throughout. The menu was seasonal and appealing, with beautifully cooked dishes—sea bass, tempura monkfish, lamb, rib eye, and excellent desserts. Portions were generous, using quality ingredients, well presented. The wine recommendations were spot on. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and highly recommended

Le manager a eu la gentillesse de nous accepter alors qu’il était plus de 21h et que la cuisine allait fermer. Nous avons été très bien reçu, les plats sont de qualité et savoureux pour un prix correct. Le responsable est français, ce qui est un petit plus. Je recommande très fortement.

The food was absolutely delicious, and even though the place was packed, the service and attention were exceptional. The only downside for me was how dark the place is, but aside from that, I 100% recommend it and we’ll definitely be back! The portion sizes are great, and the prices are excellent.

Instead of a Christmas present, we agreed to take each other out for a nice meal and we had a great lunch in Hungry Monk today. The food was really delicious and the chef has perfected taste to a really high standard as usual. Service and atmosphere were the very best. Well done on keeping up your high standards. A great Sunday lunch experience.

This restaurant is the best . Great unusual menu, large selection. The food is fantastically delicious. Especially the Cream Brulee. 🤩Excellent service.

Lovely starters but went downhill after that.. unfortunately our “specials board” rib-eye steaks were inedible, could hardly cut them let alone eat them. Also the Eton mess was not good - tiny bits of meringue and too much cream, could do a lot better! The crème brûlée were v nice. We were offered to have different mains but as were part of a birthday party group and didn’t want fuss, we declined and just ate the sides. Disappointed with the food as was looking forward to a special night out.

The atmosphere and staff are nice. For an average, food is a little bit overpriced
