The Hungry Monk in Greystones

Lovely starters but went downhill after that.. unfortunately our “specials board” rib-eye steaks were inedible, could hardly cut them let alone eat them. Also the Eton mess was not good - tiny bits of meringue and too much cream, could do a lot better! The crème brûlée were v nice. We were offered to have different mains but as were part of a birthday party group and didn’t want fuss, we declined and just ate the sides. Disappointed with the food as was looking forward to a special night out.

The atmosphere and staff are nice. For an average, food is a little bit overpriced

Legendary, how can you not enjoy the service from such a lovely family. Highly reccomend !

We had not made a reservation in advance, but we were early and so the friendly owner allowed us to come in for another 1.5 hours with the seven of us. We had a delicious meal and drank a local IPA (Wicklow Wolf). The dessert was also very tasty. The nice thing about this restaurant is that there is no loud music. You create the atmosphere yourself by talking to each other. If you want to hear music, you can stand in the hallway and listen to the monks singing. ;)

Top class food, and first class service. The owner is a chip off the old block, highly recommend.

Had a lovely meal. Took us in on short notice. We had two young kids and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Food beautiful. Will def be back next time we are in the area. Would highly recommend

It was my first time eating here and the food was stunning I had the duck pate starter and the chicken curry for my main I particularly enjoyed the duck pate starter I had the restaurant was very atmospheric with lit candles at the tables and the server's were very attentive

Delicious food and exceptional service

Very pleasant meal. Bases on reviews we came here for Sunday lunch . Really impressive Sunday Roast with all the trimmings, cooked perfectly . My wife and daughter had beef cheeks which were melt in the mouth. Lovely ambience and friendly staff

Excellents plats typiques dans un décor en accord. Belle sélection de vins (le patron est français). Pensez à réserver, le lieu est petit et fort couru.
