I had the pleasure of staying at the Lakeside Hotel, Killaloe this past weekend.
I absolutely loved the experience — the hotel is beautifully set right on the banks of the River Shannon, offering stunning views not only of the majestic river itself but also of the striking Saint Flannan’s Cathedral, which truly stands out as a beacon of beauty.
A special word of thanks goes to Helen Mooney, Rehman (the breakfast manager), Muireann, and Maya, whose warmth and attentiveness made my stay both memorable and welcoming.

Food was good as always but today, we encountered a zombie waitress tending to us and a few unfortunate guests. She was unbelievably lacking in hospitality, zero aptitude, basically perfunctory and obviously not interested in service of any sorts. We had to remind her of a few things we ordered. She got us the bill, yet did not come back to collect payment so we left cash on the table and she sent the other waiter after us while we were leaving, claiming we did not pay?! Maybe she is just a temp as Lakeside staff are usually good.

Stayed for one night with my 3 children aged from 12 to 6.Hands down one of the best hotels ive stayed in ever. From moment we arrived till we left it was just perfect.Hotel itself was fantastic but its the staff the make the experience. The pool and leisure facilities were an added bonus and it my kids all agreed that we would be definitely be back.

Where to begin? Superb hotel with impeccable service.
Very welcoming. Beautiful room/suite overlooking Sule Shannon and Killaloe Bridge.
But a little noisy with the pub's smoking area.
Otherwise, nice breakfast and dinner on site.
You have the choice between the pub or a restaurant.
I recommend this beautiful hotel.

Cons: we stayed in several cities during our Ireland trip but this hotel despite being in the smallest town was the loudest & rowdiest location. It wasn’t even high tourist season but there were large groups of tour buses and community events going on at this hotel. Walls, windows, and doors let in a lot of noise.
Check in and getting seated for breakfast seems to take a lot time. Perhaps they are short staffed?
Tip: angle the shower head and the moveable glass shower half door to better direct water into the tub basin. Then as much water won’t get on the wood (!) outside of the tub.
Pros: the garden, grounds, and view were beautiful.

Just back from a lovely stay at this lovely Hotel staff were brilliant so helpful and friendly, food was great especially the gluten free options at breakfast which had a full gluten free menu which is very unusual, would like to thank Ken and staff for the upgrade to one of the beautiful Waterfront rooms on our second night which was a special treat for my wife as it was her 60TH birthday, we really enjoyed our stay well done guys keep up the great work. 👍 👏👏
