The Lakeside Hotel and Leisure Centre in Ballina

Really nice hotel, really enjoyed it here. A very welcoming lady on reception was so friendly when we checked in and explained everything, I think her name was Margie. Another lovely staff member in the bar when we went for food, Faye, very helpful and attentive. Room was fabulous and very clean, I didn’t meet the housekeeping staff but they do an excellent job, we were in a waterfront room and the view was lovely. Overall had such a great stay, all the staff in the hotel were so nice, will definitely be back!

We first stayed at this hotel last year and were so impressed that returning this year was an easy decision. It’s rare to revisit somewhere and feel the same level of satisfaction but this hotel absolutely delivered again. Every single member of staff we encountered was warm, professional, and clearly committed to doing their job well. What stood out most was that many of the team were the same as last year. That consistency made the hotel feel even more comfortable and welcoming, almost familiar. Our room was spotless, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The coffee making station may be a little old style, but it had everything we needed. Housekeeping was thorough. The leisure facilities were very well maintained. The pool area was kept clean with visible, regular upkeep. The lifeguard was attentive, and the gym was surprisingly spacious and well equipped for a hotel. We also really enjoyed the sauna and steam room, and the addition of a cold plunge was a great touch. Breakfast was enjoyable for both adults and children, with friendly staff and plenty of choice. We especially appreciated that gluten free and vegetarian options were available. The same consideration applied to dinner — a vegetarian menu was available upon request, with a good variety of options. That flexibility makes a real difference for families with different dietary preferences. The hotel’s views are beautiful and walking around the surrounding area was one of the highlights of our stay. It genuinely felt peaceful and uplifting. Dining was very good overall, with a varied and tasty menu. On busier evenings there was a bit of a wait, but staff came over to explain the delay, which we appreciated. Clear communication goes a long way. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Had a lovely 2 night stay here.Room very nice,lovely view but felt housekeeping was a bit lax..We ate in the bar & the staff were lovely, friendly &all excellent at their job,the menu is felt could do with a few changes,the first night we ate in bar about 7.30 there was no roast on menu however we went a bit earlier on 2nd evening &there was turkey &ham on which was spot on but very little ham on plate.Overall we were happy with our stay,breakfast was lovely.Would recommend &will be back.Lovely walks in the area.

Beautiful location overlooking the lake/river. Food was good, we eat in the bar, staff were super friendly and helpful. Riverview rooms are fab, with terrace leading onto the river, lovely gardens.

I had a wonderful stay with my family at the hotel. The staff were friendly, professional, and very attentive throughout our stay. Special thanks to Mr. Rehman and his team for their warm hospitality and excellent service each morning—they truly made the start of my day enjoyable. I would happily recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

Classic location in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands beside the Shannon River

Haven't stayed as a guest, so only commenting on the pool and the restaurant. The pool and gym are pretty adequate for a small hotel, and a fantastic service for locals in the area. Staff there are really friendly. The pool isn't always clean unfortunately, but generally it's ok. The restaurant is awful, just avoid it unless you have no other choice. The food is rubbish and the staff are quite inattentive.

Had dinner here , I got the steak sandwich and onion rings on the side. I ordered mine medium and was cooked to perfection melted in my mouth 10/10 onion rings unreal, kids got fish gougons they loved them. Was impressed how fast they have the food in front of you. Staff were lovely , highly recommended, I am coming back next year to stay for a few days

Stayed mid week and got an upgrade to the waterfront rooms. Amazing room with an amazing view of lough derg literally right outside the balcony door. Quite possibly the best value for money hotel room iv stayed in for a long time! Breakfast was great and staff all very helpful. Location is brilliant Would highly recommend for a night away
