Classic location in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands beside the Shannon River

Haven't stayed as a guest, so only commenting on the pool and the restaurant. The pool and gym are pretty adequate for a small hotel, and a fantastic service for locals in the area. Staff there are really friendly. The pool isn't always clean unfortunately, but generally it's ok. The restaurant is awful, just avoid it unless you have no other choice. The food is rubbish and the staff are quite inattentive.

Had dinner here , I got the steak sandwich and onion rings on the side. I ordered mine medium and was cooked to perfection melted in my mouth 10/10 onion rings unreal, kids got fish gougons they loved them. Was impressed how fast they have the food in front of you. Staff were lovely , highly recommended, I am coming back next year to stay for a few days

Stayed mid week and got an upgrade to the waterfront rooms. Amazing room with an amazing view of lough derg literally right outside the balcony door. Quite possibly the best value for money hotel room iv stayed in for a long time! Breakfast was great and staff all very helpful. Location is brilliant Would highly recommend for a night away

Staff were so friendly and accommodating in a very busy environment. The food was delicious. The hotel was difficult to find and there was a lack of signage in the approach to the hotel. However it was a really lovely relaxing experience.

Wonderful experience and stay. Staff are friendly, helpful. Overall a exceptional stay, good value for money and food was fab.

We stayed one night, the room was very spaciou, the view was incredible to wake up to. There was tea, coffee and regular amenities as well as a complimentary chocolate bar. The hotel staff were wonderful and so friendly. We ate at the bar restaurant, both our meals were excellent. And again the view was incredible. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic with lots of options. The mini danish was particularly good as well as the vanilla smoothie! The Christmas decorations were beautiful too. I think this is the best hotel I've stayed at in Ireland.

Amazing stay that we've made into our annual tradition for our son's birthday... a very special thanks to the wonderful staff and especially the people at the breakfast area who went above and beyond to make sure we're happy... I had the pleasure of staying at the Lakeside Hotel, Killaloe this past weekend. I absolutely loved the experience — the hotel is beautifully set right on the banks of the River Shannon, offering stunning views not only of the majestic river itself but also of the striking Saint Flannan’s Cathedral, which truly stands out as a beacon of beauty. A special word of thanks goes to Helen Mooney, Rehman (the breakfast manager), Muireann, and Maya, whose warmth and attentiveness made my stay both memorable and welcoming. — G.B.

Food was good as always but today, we encountered a zombie waitress tending to us and a few unfortunate guests. She was unbelievably lacking in hospitality, zero aptitude, basically perfunctory and obviously not interested in service of any sorts. We had to remind her of a few things we ordered. She got us the bill, yet did not come back to collect payment so we left cash on the table and she sent the other waiter after us while we were leaving, claiming we did not pay?! Maybe she is just a temp as Lakeside staff are usually good.
