The Lakeside Hotel and Leisure Centre in Ballina

Lovely staff and beautiful location

We had an excellent stay here at the Lakeside Hotel. Unfortunately due to a storm and subsequent power cut, the hotel were having an IT issue and couldn’t check us in immediately. Staff on the desk were very apologetic, and we were offered free drinks while we waited. Due to the delay, we were offered a free upgrade of room. I mostly say this to outline how the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was not affected by an IT issue that was no fault of their own. On top of that, the hotel has gorgeous facilities, lovely rooms, and breakfast was perfect, with everything you could want. I wouldn’t think twice to stay here again. 5/5 stars!

Location perfect. The rest okish. Barman was filling me pint when the barrell emptied. He went off and hooked up another keg, then started filling in on top of what had come out of the near empty keg. He must have never heard the saying, the dregs of the barrell.

Room was lovely, breakfast was low quality with staff unhelpful getting left to find and clean our table ourselves before we sat down. A piece of bone was found in a sausage on our table. Would recommend for staying but not for the breakfast.

We had two very good meals here while visiting the area. Great vegan menu! We also had afternoon tea while visiting with our friends. Highly recommend booking for tea!

I had a really enjoyable stay at the Lakeside Hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and made it easy to relax. The gym and leisure area were also great. Clean,well-maintained, and a nice bonus during the stay. One of the highlights was definitely the breathtaking views around the hotel, which made the whole experience feel extra special. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, with plenty of options, and a special mention to Rehman, who was incredibly kind and attentive. He went out of his way to accommodate our vegan needs, which we really appreciated. Overall, a lovely stay and I would happily return.

We had the most incredible stay at the Lakeside Hotel in Co. Clare — from start to finish, everything was just perfect ✨ The setting is absolutely stunning, with beautiful views that make it the ideal escape. The food was gorgeous — every meal felt like a treat — and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was so relaxing and welcoming. What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond, but a special mention has to go to Rong Rong at reception, who truly looked after us and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived, ye are so lucky to have her to meet and greet your guests And Sean at breakfast kept everything running so smoothly — the buffet was fantastic and the service was spot on. It’s the little touches and genuine kindness that make a place unforgettable, and this hotel has it in abundance.
