We were using Galway as a jumping off point to go to the Cliffs of Moher the next day but so glad we got into Galway early to explore. The lively Latin Quarter was a lovely stop, where we could shop the market stalls, visit various shops with a wide selection of wool clothing and walk near the docks and parks and churches to soak up the local scenery. Galway was really charming and wish we had another day to explore the restaurants and bars in the area. The Latin Quarter was bustling and lively.

The Kings Head

26/05/2026: The drinks are great and great craic at night. However, my husband and I stopped here for dinner one night when looking for seafood and couldn’t get in to the upscale seafood place nearby. 45 minute wait for 2 people at 7:30pm on a Monday-would highly recommended the salted caramel espresso martini-amazing! We ordered the seafood platter and scallops. The oysters had pieces of shell in them and tasted of pure salt water-I love oysters but these were just not that great. The scallops were slightly overcooked as well. I would avoid this place for seafood and stick with drinks and possibly traditional food only.
25/05/2026: Another fantastic pub. Traditional, quaint, rustic, and great. Excellent beer selection, good food, and a cozy atmosphere. The pub has two floors and is huge. The staff is great, and you can meet friendly people there relatively quickly.

Jungle Cafe Galway

03/07/2026: I was there with some friends for brunch and everything was great. Despite it being Saturday, we got a table for 5 without any problem. All the staff are friendly and the service is very good. But the dishes, the presentation, and how delicious everything was were truly outstanding. Incredible!
03/07/2026: Beautiful little cafe just off Eyre Square and the food was delicious and staff really nice 🤗🤗
