The Left Bank in Athlone

The food was amazing, some of the best we have ever eaten as a family. From the wings, to the chilli beef, fish pie and pulled pork specials. They were incredible, and absolute gem of a restaurant if you are Athlone in a beautiful historic setting

Lovely spot, managed to squeeze us in without a booking and am really glad they did. Would like to have tried more as what we had was very tasty and interesting dishes. We had risotto, prawn starter and cauliflower starter. Recommend. Friendly staff

We stopped by this bistro for lunch after driving down from Dublin and visiting Sean’s Bar. It was a solid meal—I had the warm prawn and chorizo salad, which was flavorful and filling. My friend had the bisque and cleaned his bowl. The staff were friendly and quick to help with anything. The restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.

Nous avons mangé un délicieux déjeuner dans ce restaurant, un fish n chips ainsi que de la soupe. Les proportions sont vraiment généreuses et c'est savoureux. La salle est aussi très belle et l'endroit propose un grand choix de desserts.

What a gem of a place! On the left bank of the Shannon river in Athlone, just down from Sean’s Bar in a little cluster of other establishments. Service is outstanding – the servers work as a great team and I was checked on throughout my time with everyone that worked there. Never had to wait for anything. Food is also remarkable. I had a dish from the specials menu: Halibut with salsa verde and a side of circular chips and a small salad. Splurged on the sticky toffee pudding. Excellent selection of non-alcoholic beverages of all sorts! Beautiful airy restaurant with large windows looking out down the winding streets and to the Shannon River.

Excellent evening with friends, delicious food, very attentive staff. Plenty of tables, spacious not overcrowded. Toilets spotless. A few soft seats would be nice to sit on, or the option of a cushion, as the chairs are a bit hard on the rear! Will return soon again, as we enjoyed this restaurant very much.
