The Lime Tree in Kenmare

We had dinner in the Lime Tree last Saturday.. This was our first time here and it’s most definitely won’t be our last ! We’ve already planned our next visit ! I have to say it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time .. and definitely the best restaurant we’ve been to when visiting Kenmare .. The scallops were the best I’ve ever had ! The hake was perfection .. My husband had the chowder & steak .. The wine was also excellent.. the staff are so professional and so so friendly & helpful .. each & every one of them .. Michael the owner & chef goes around chatting to everyone after service is over .. He’s a lovely friendly person and what a talented chef ! the meal was better than some we’ve had in michelin star restaurants .. thanks for an amazing dinner

Amazing food, service in a very cosy restaurant

I had the most beautiful chowder. The soup was nice, served with bread and olive puree. Sirloin was nice with delicious sauce. I was a bit disappointed in the rack of lamb as it was very rare, but the shepard pie was scrumptious. Dessert was the best! Staff were very accommodating and lovely atmosphere!

What a wonderful place!! It’s like you’re going through the front door of someone’s little cottage but then you enter and the restaurant opens up in front of you. Fantastic stone walls and wooden beams, a mezzanine floor too. The waiting staff are super friendly and the food was OUTSTANDING!! We also have one person in our party who has both nut and dairy allergies and she was superbly well looked after. This is the second time I have visited and will certainly be back again.

Food, atmosphere and service were amazing. The menu is quite exciting. You must book if you want to get a table which I highly recommend you do.

Very mediocre. It is highly recommended, but the quality of the food is really mediocre. For the same money but for much better quality, go to Mulcahys.
