Good quality breakfast and great coffee. Nice gift shop too. Would have sat outside in loft area had we known it was there but we were steered into the front part and only realised how large and sprawling it was after finishing our meal.

This is our absolute favourite place in Birr! We first came here because of the coffee (Badger&Dodo is the best coffee!), but everything else about The Loft is just amazing: the staff, the food, the decor. We had breakfast here twice (French toast - a chef’s kiss!) and a wrap to share, and they served it on two plates which was such a nice touch. Thank you and we’ll be back! 🥰

Dined outside in the wonderful rare sunshine.Excellent cuisine, friendly and efficient staff. Relaxed ambience for a chat and a catch up with friends. Well done to all the staff.

Courtyard Cafe at Birr Castle

09/12/2024: great place for walk especially during warmer months.
04/12/2024: Plus! Wonderful park. We bought a season ticket and visited all summer. Every time the park and gardens delighted us with something new. You can see the house once. Educational, but a bit expensive. Meeting the owners made the visit to the house more enjoyable. Good tour guides. We were impressed by the girl from Italy. She put her soul into her work and really wanted to help us learn all the interesting things. Highly recommend visiting. There are already plenty of photos online. The main thing is the experience.

28/10/2024: Had lunch with a party of 6. Place was packed and since it was raining outside could not be used (welcome to Ireland). Small wait for a table but worth it. Food was very good. Waitresses very friendly. Service was great. Thank you for the delicious meal. Will definitely be stopping back.
09/10/2024: “Good things come in small packages” is true for this lively garden centre. Plants and flowers look quite healthy, not two items are the same, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Pity I didn’t see their hens, but I came across a beautiful cat, who kept a watchful eye on my dog :) I didn’t try the cafe on this occasion, but noticed that it’s popular. I will be back when I’m in the area again.
