The Old Bank House in Kinsale

This very great location townhouse allowed us to enter the centre of the Kinsale Community so easily…the breakfast was served in a very comfortable setting and the food was very good and a nice wide variety was available…my room was very comfortable…the staff were full of great information and proved quite helpful with requested information..

Our stay was great and the building was old and but beautiful. The beds weren’t very comfortable and there was only a couple of plug ins. If you’re going for a piece history then this is your place, if you’re going for comfort then this isn’t.

We stopped into the cafe and had the best lunch! The scones were awesome!

Beautiful in the center. Does not have its own parking space. Finding parking is difficult on weekends.

Dropped in for lunch after a sauna & dip in nearby Garrettstown. Gorgeous food and friendly staff - I'd recommend the deviled hollandaise poached eggs on sourdough - YUM. Daughter had a Toasted Special & wife had a chicken & avocado wrap - this caused a slight delay as they ran out of avocado but salvaged it in the end. Last visit, we sat out front, but as it was so busy this time we were down the back inside & glad of the cool respite on a very warm day. Well worth a visit for a tasty lunch.

Reception on first floor. Lift doesnt go into between floors. Door handle to room coming off the door. Bathroom basic and room windows old and not sound proofed. Some car alarm went off at night in the street below and didnt stop. Impossible to sleep. Definitely needs some form of maintenance to room and bathroom.

Stayed 6 nights for business in the area. The room was small and dated, but clean. There was no hot water in the mornings or evenings. You only got lucky mid-day, which is pretty significant and the main reason for only 2 stars here. Nespresso machine in the room was clean and adequate for coffee and hot water; fan supplied white noise since even though the window closed, it sounded open. There was an ironing board in the room, but no iron. Room safe was small but adequate. Staff did not announce themselves before coming into the room and there is no secondary lock to prevent this. The location of the hotel is great, walk-able to everything in town and immediately across from the bus station. The redeeming quality of this stay was the fantastic breakfast and staff at breakfast. Menu was generous offering tea/coffee, juices, fruit, pastries, and numerous hot items everyday. The porridge and full Irish breakfast were favorites of ours. The staff was so accommodating and offered coffee and pastries to go for busy days. I can't say I would recommend an overnight stay here, but definitely stop by for breakfast! You will not be disappointed with the food!
