The Old Barracks Restaurant in Athenry

Dined here on "Mothers Day" which is usually a challenging day for restaurants but you couldn't say it had any impact on the service we received. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. we were promptly seated on arrival, there was no delay in getting menus, ordering etc. we had some kids and adults in our party and Lauren and the rest of the staff were so patient and attentive they made us feel as though we were the only table in the restaurant (we absolutely were not the only table, it was really really busy). Main courses were fantastic, kids food (with individually spec'd bugers!!) was spot on, the beef main course was incredible (and the kids half roast was monstrous and every bit as good as the adults!!). We were dining late in the day and while they were trying to wind down the day (I think they had closed the doors by the time we ordered dessert) they remained as attentive and helpful as ever. at no stage did we feel like we had overstayed and we left very much in our own time. a beautiful setting to boot but the champions here were the food and the service. couldn't recommend this highly enough, will certainly be back!!

An excellent experience. Breakfast was perfect. Staff were friendly and efficient, despite it being a busy morning. Atmosphere was delightful. I highly recommend this place.

We stopped in for a quick lunch on our way west and were very very happily surprised at how good the food was, how interesting the menu is, and how good the service was.

From the quaint town of Athenry, the beautiful Abbey Row suite to the delicious food at the Old Barracks restaurant our stay was perfect. The restaurant staff was top notch. I will miss my morning mocha and the feeling of being so welcomed. Special thank you to Scott for his generous room upgrade and being so understanding when we called for help getting in the door. ; ) My husband was so happy with his birthday/anniversary trip.
