Visited 2 weeks ago when on holiday, was recommended by someone we had met the previous days when we told them we'd be in Cahersiveen. To be honest it was not the best experience - not horrible or bad per se, just not great. The pizzas are not really pizzas - they're more like a tortilla wrap with toppings. It was so hard to tell what kind of dough the base was as it was so thin. But it really did not resemble any pizza I've ever had (and trust me, I eat pizza!). The building itself is obviously beautiful, it's great to be able to sit and have a meal in such a venue, but the place was pretty dead, and as a result the staff (who were all young - no older than early 20s) didn't really give the impression they could be arsed, to be frank. Again, there was no rudeness etc. but a very clear lack of any kind of effort, no smiles, barely any words, and by the time we had paid they seemed glad to get rid of us (we were the last people in, but this was before closing). There was a really awkward interaction between them and a couple who'd come in to order pizza to takeaway too. It was all just a bit odd and the food was not very good. I wouldn't go back, mostly because of the food - it's just not pizza! If they upped their game and started making real pizza dough etc I'd probably give it another chance, in spite of all of the other issues. The tourist season didn't really feel like it had began when we were there so perhaps this is why it was so dead and the staff were quite lackluster and had given up mentally. Who knows. Anyway - I'm not saying don't try this place, you may have a completely different experience. This is just the one we had 🙂
Great atmosphere in this desecrated church.

This place is simply unique, and we finally managed to get a seat there.
We had a reservation, but upon request, we were allowed to arrive an hour earlier. The staff is very friendly, and the pizzas are a little different than what we might be used to in Germany, but still very tasty.

The pizza tasted mediocre, the dough was too hard.
Rather expensive for a pizza.
The atmosphere in the old church was exceptional, a bit chilly but without heating.
Nice place, with a unique appearance. The pizza was good
A restaurant in an old church with a great atmosphere. Very good, and sometimes unusual, pizzas.

Great pizza selection and nicely situated eatery in an old church, keeping many of the original features. Pizzas were light and made to order - recommend for those nights when a pizza and glass of wine or beer is just what you fancy!

This isn’t our first visit (it’s now our third) and it certainly wasn’t disappointing yet again. The pizza toppings are amazing, the service is efficient and friendly, and their wine selection is nice as well. The church’s interior just adds to the experience. I highly recommend it!

For a restaurant whose signature dish is pizza, I don't think the pizza is good enough, but based on other reviews, the tastes vary. The pizza base was crispy and thin like a cookie. The location in a former church, on the other hand, is a real highlight.

The Oratory Pizza & Wine Bar in Cahersiveen is a unique and cozy spot housed in a beautifully converted church. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with soft lighting and comfortable seating that make it a great place to unwind. They serve delicious thin-crust pizzas made with fresh ingredients, and the staff are friendly and attentive. It's a perfect stop if you're exploring the Ring of Kerry and looking for a relaxed dining experience.
