The Playwright in Kilkenny

Such a great pub! We went there 2 nights in a row for dinner it was so good (we usually like to try new places each time). Staff were super friendly, food was delicious, portions were HUGE, atmosphere was so warm and fun, with great live music both nights. We spent about 16-17€ per meal, and for the portion size and quality, that is a bargain. If we lived in Kilkenny we would be regulars here!

Had some pints and a bite to eat here... great experience! My mom declared her shepherd's pie the best that she's ever eaten. Our waitress was very nice as well :) lots of locals here... great pub!

Delicious food, reasonably priced, and very friendly service. We still got hot food even after 8 p.m.!

Absolutely amazing atmosphere!! The food was really delicious - the Irish Stew is a must! Combined with music for the soul, it makes the perfect dinner!

Excellent place. The atmosphere is one of the best in all of Ireland, calm and relaxed. The food is good and the pints are excellent. The service is very good. I highly recommend it.

The Shepherd's Pie is highly recommended! It was delicious, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Unfortunately I was just passing through, but I would eat here again any time if I had the opportunity.

Mi esposo y yo somos vegetarianos y no podemos tener gluten🥴 comimos 2 hamburguesas veganas - hicieron la mía con pan sin gluten! Recomiendo encarecidamente - las patatas fritas (chips) y ensalada eran todos muy buenos también! Gran lugar para el almuerzo - muy servicial para las necesidades dietéticas😊 Como la ubicación también - en la calle de Kieran (sin coches! )

Almorzamos en el café Cueva - parte del dramaturgo. Excelente comida y relación calidad-precio. Muy recomendable 👌. Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez en Kilkenny.
