The Playwright in Kilkenny

Great pub: delicious food and fair value. Cozy interior, typical Irish live music, and well-chilled beer. The service was extremely friendly, and even though it was already quite full, they managed to make room for us. I highly recommend it when in Kilkenny.

Had lunch there on 10th September, sat outside as had the dogs with me. Fish and chips for me and beef for herself. Couldn't fault either of them, wife said the beef was the nicest she'd ever had. Staff very friendly, brought out water for the dogs. Would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

My dad is super picky in regards to how things are cooked etc and he couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the Fish & Chips were, the Vegetable Soup my Mam and I had was so hearty and delicious without being heavy, the pint I had was freezing cold and exactly what I needed, and the coffees my parents had were fantastic. We'll definitely be returning the next time we visit Kilkenny ✨ Fantastic altogether!

The food was EXCELLENT. Everything was delicious, well prepared and I couldn't be happier.

We enjoyed a lovely quiet moment inside with a delicious fish & chips and an excellent Swithwicks beer. The service was friendly and fast. It's a shame about the intrusive TVs inside.

The soup is expensive for what it is but the beers are very good.

Mi esposo y yo somos vegetarianos y no podemos tener gluten🥴 comimos 2 hamburguesas veganas - hicieron la mía con pan sin gluten! Recomiendo encarecidamente - las patatas fritas (chips) y ensalada eran todos muy buenos también! Gran lugar para el almuerzo - muy servicial para las necesidades dietéticas😊 Como la ubicación también - en la calle de Kieran (sin coches! )
