I honestly wish I could give more stars. Tonight is the last night of vacation with my family and we scoured the internet looking for a place to have our last dinner. We are pretty obsessed with a tapas restaurant back home in Chicago, and looking at the menu and reviews we chose The Port House, Cava. Walking in it literally felt as if we walked into one of our own family members homes. There were a man and woman working (forgive me, I don't remember thier names) and they were so warm and friendly welcoming us in. We're traveling with our 8 month old and the man instantly brought over a high chair and helped my son into it, and even helped buckle him in. This has never happened in any other restaurant. High chairs yes but never have we had anyone so carefully assist our son into the high chair and make sure he was safely secured. We exchanged some small talk, he was amazing with my son (the entire evening) and both he and his co worker could not have been friendlier or more attentive to everyone dining. I am not exaggerating when I say it was like being in a family members home for dinner. And the tapas. Wow. Absolutely incredible. We ordered 6 tapas dishes and even the asparagus was perfection. Throughout our dinner I watched the restaurant grow busier yet the two working the front never wavered on thier hospitality even though they were both working thier tails off. Everything was utterly delicious (I highly recommend the grilled octopus) and my wife and I raved about the experience the entire way back to where we are staying. Even the ambiance of the restaurant is calming and welcoming which says a lot being on a busy city street. This is our second time in Ireland and if I had to recommend one place to definitely go check out it would be this one. Phenomenal food, great prices, incredible service. There is not one single negative thing I could say about the entire dinner. Thank you to the staff for making our last night in Ireland incredibly special.

Our group of 7 had a great bottomless brunch on a Sunday. Food was tasty, sangria was delicious & the restaurant was surprisingly quiet. Interior is lovely. You'll need to walk some stairs for the toilet.

Beautiful food but absolutely terrible service. A table for 10 upstairs - forgot 5 of our ordered dishes, which is fine as mistakes can happen. However the 3rd time I asked for the remaining 2 dishes and they didn't arrive I decided to cancel them as the other 9 people at the table were ready to order their desserts. Both dishes along with an extra glass of wine appeared on our bill. We would have eaten a lot more food if we had better service, some of our group went home still hungry. A terrible pity as the food was delicious as always. I would rarely publish a negative review, however this was the second time I've had this exact experience in this restaurant. Disappointing.

Family dinner during my visit to Dublin. With a somewhat noisy atmosphere, we decided to go into a “Spanish” restaurant, being Spanish. We ordered potato omelette, there wasn't any, they had a group before and it was sold out. Some potatoes with mojo, which being from the Canary Islands, we wanted to see how they were, and well the wrinkled potatoes were vilely replaced by some bravas, with a pseudo mojo picón. Then a rice with vegetables and chicken, very tasty, ham croquettes, probably frozen, because if Alberto Chicote has taught us anything, it is that croquettes cannot all be the same and an Iberian pork tenderloin, presumably, at its best and with a flavored sauce. The problem, the quantities, less than a lid. They serve Spanish beer. Salty price, if you don't have the purchasing power of an Irishman. Very correct staff. There is no place to go with children.

08/04/2025: We had a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant. We were served by Amy and Cuchulain, who were both incredibly attentive and friendly. They made sure we felt well taken care of throughout the evening. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. A big thank you to the whole team.

Layla's

18/05/2025: I came here for a family members birthday party so there was quite a lot of us. The view, amazing. I got the special of the day which was pasta with a creamy sort of sauce with bits of meat. It was quite good but a bit skimpy on the meat.
05/05/2025: Really excellent food with great flavours - shouldn't be dismissed as "just a hotel restaurant", it's way better than that! Good selection, and very good cocktails. Would recommend the Tuna Crudo and the Tiramisu in particular.
