Look at the wall! Apparently it's art created as part of a town public works project. It's totally Cartoon Saloon-esque. Cheers to the medieval streetscape, modern murals, and Irish music!

The bartender, Kevin is witty, friendly and so much fun to exchange with. He's a fan of Quebec's (Canada) Angine de Poitrine and greeted us with their familiar triangle handsign. Had a blast and wished we could stay longer in his town. Thanks again for the toasties!

Fantastic bar with a warm and friendly atmosphere! The staff are incredibly welcoming, the selection of beers is good and fresh. The interior has an amazing design that gives the place a unique character and makes it a great spot to relax. It's the perfect place to pop in for a drink after visiting the castle. Highly recommend stopping by—you won't be disappointed! Dog friendly

We have been in this pub multiple times throughout the years. Kevin has always been there behind the bar and always been friendly and quick with the pints! We make it a point to stop in every time we are in Kilkenny!

Stayed in Airbnb above pub. Was a lovely little room with a nice big fan. In the heart of the town and was quiet despite being on top of a pub. A kettle would have been nice. Bathrooms and beds were very restful. Would stay again :)

I booked a room here. A very cute single room and very clean. The pub is also very nicely decorated, and the staff are incredibly helpful. Please note that the rooms are located above one pub, and there's another pub right next door. So it can get a bit noisy at times.

25/08/2026: Not an unenjoyable experience, by any stretch, but I couldn't help but feel a little bit disappointed by the quality of the food. If I had just wandered in off the street with no expectations, I would have enjoyed it more, but knowing that it was a Michelin star restaurant, I was expecting to he wowed, which never happened. Overall, a decent Sunday lunch but the Michelin star is somewhat perplexing.
28/07/2026: As a birthday treat my son took myself and my wife for lunch at this restuarant. We arrived just at ppening time at 12.30pm We got a very warm friendly welcome as we were brought to our table. The lunch menu for the early bird lunch give you 3 choices for starters, mains and deserts. Each of us enjoyed different choices for all 3 courses. The level of detail taken by the chef was extrondery as all dishes were top class. The level of attention that we received from our waitor was exceptional. The table settings and comfort was also first class. I would reccomend this resturant for a special occasion to be spoilt .. We will be back!
