Best food I have had after a week in Ireland

I've been here twice. The first time I had just an oyster. The second time I came for a full dinner. I recommend making a reservation. I had the pleasure of tasting the best tuna in my life here. I highly recommend this place. You won't find a better fish restaurant in Golway. The waitress who served us was a bit scared. But she knows her job. The manager was very friendly.

We were driving past Galway and were told about this restaurant. We parked and dashed to make lunch before closure. My husband had the Sauteed Prawns with Garlic and Butter. I had the Pan seared Hake with Cherry Tomato & Basil Risotto and Basil Pesto. IT WAS ALL DIVINE. So, so worth the fuss to get there. The atmosphere was lovely - a snug venue with a table of 3, a party of 4 celebrating friendship, a table with a couple seated and a single person at a small table near us. The wait staff was supremely trained and attentive. The prawns and fish were divinely fresh - prepared to perfection!

A sophisticated restaurant with excellent food. Rather expensive.

Sheltered from the rain outside, we enjoyed our light lunch (a chowder) on this quiet street. We chatted with our very friendly waiter at this upscale establishment.

We went to Kirwan's for dinner recently, just the two of us.Celebrating 30 years in business, and it shows. We started with the Wild Atlantic lobster risotto to share, genuinely amazing. I had the Whole Black Sole on the bone with samphire, caper, and parsley butter, magnificent, and they'd even trimmed the small outer bones for easier eating. My wife had the pan-fried halibut, also magnificent. Nice touch too, a big bowl of potatoes just turns up at the table, not even listed on the menu, properly Irish. Highly recommend. We had the Lobster risotto,. Very good value, better than we expected for the price. On top of that, staff were outstanding, they made the visit. Everything was clean and well presented. One we will return to. Small tables considering the high prices. Excellent food. Especially fish. Good service.

An extremely nice restaurant in the center of Galway! Very friendly and attentive staff. The service is professional and fast. A large selection of wines, there is also delicious bottled beer. The menu is also quite large and varied. There is plenty to choose from, and most importantly the dishes are extremely tasty! Probably the best tuna in my life! I recommend it!

Food was excellenz although the Chowder tasteda bit too bland. Service was unattentive, e.g. not bringing a new napkin to the table after one was taken when clearing the table after starters. Brought the dessert menu and did not show up for 10 minutes to take the order. Had to leave without dessert.

Excellent sea food restaurant. Book ahead . Will definitely return.
