The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.

Food wasn't good. Pint glass was filthy. It still had lipstick on it from the previous user. It was vile. Service was good and sorted the problem. We wouldn't return here because of our experience ro be honest. My chicken wings were decent enough but my wife's stir fry pork was awful.

Milo served us food tonight on a very busy night, absolutely lovely young man and communicated clearly even with the loud music playing! Thank you Milo! Also they do a gorgeous pint of Guinness!

We can upon this restaurant by accident. The reviews were so so, but we thought we would take a risk since so many of the restaurants in the area were fully booked. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was simple but good, better than expected. It was good value for the money.

Great pub with great food, helpfull staff and real value for money. Only downside is they don't hold tables for bookings so when you arrive if there isn't a table you need to wait and almost keep walking around to you find a table but it's a large premises and there is nearly always a table free. There was live music most nights and a table quiz one evening. Lovely interior and a great location.

However, my husband and I stopped here for dinner one night when looking for seafood and couldn’t get in to the upscale seafood place nearby. 45 minute wait for 2 people at 7:30pm on a Monday-would highly recommended the salted caramel espresso martini-amazing! We ordered the seafood platter and scallops. The oysters had pieces of shell in them and tasted of pure salt water-I love oysters but these were just not that great. The scallops were slightly overcooked as well. I would avoid this place for seafood and stick with drinks and possibly traditional food only.
25/05/2026: Another fantastic pub. Traditional, quaint, rustic, and great. Excellent beer selection, good food, and a cozy atmosphere. The pub has two floors and is huge. The staff is great, and you can meet friendly people there relatively quickly.
