The Shack in Moate

Lovely warm welcome, big fires, wonderful staff and everywhere buzzing. We had gorgeous lunch, excellent beef and crunchy apple crumble, top class, excellent. Thank you, you all made sad, nostalgic trip to Athlone very alright!!

After reading some positive reviews of The Shack we decided to call there on Friday evening for food and drinks but disappointingly food finished at 4pm. We were however so impressed with the warm welcome , lovely atmosphere and beautifully presented bar we decided to stay for a drink. The bar is spotless , staff were very friendly and there was a lovely buzz. It’s deserving of its number 1 pub in Athlone accolade
