The Shelbourne in Cork

A bar with loads of Character and historical building too in Cork city! Very close to City Centre! It's on your way into the city from the North side of city on Mccurtain street! If you like Whiskey or any old Top shelf drinks this Is the place for you! Something like 200 or 300 different types of Whiskey and Brandys too and lots of different types of Alcoholic Beverages! Great spot for socialising with friends with a group or just on your own! Plenty Seating inside and outside! Bit Pricey expensive for a Drink!

Great busy bar even late on a Sunday night. It's in a great spot with plenty of other bars and restaurants if you want to mix and match.

Had drinks here last for a work night out - lovely spot . However went to the bar and ordered a round of gin and tonics, specifically asking for Dingle Gin and watched a few minutes later as the guy filled our glasses with Cork Dry Gin , a cheaper gin. Asked him when he brought the drinks and he swore it was Dingle Gin and my receipt states Dingle Gin ..rather that argue and spoil my night I just took the drinks and went back down to my table but it got the better of me and I spoke to the bar manager who gave me the spiel about “ speaking to the staff member to clarify “..but because in my frustration I used one swear word , not directed at or referring to him but at the situation.. when I initially spoke to him , he chose to make the conversation more about that like he was somehow traumatised by my language and so he chose to deflect from the real issue by hiding behind that …it’s clearly a policy here to serve cheaper Gins later in the night because this barman just works there and to my knowledge should have no vested interest in saving the bar money…like I said it’s a lovely pub and we had a nice time there but this experience left a really sour taste ..

Very nice night here a few wks ago, table service which was a real treat. The bar was full at 18:00.

Didn't have food there however great option for pints and cocktails. Staff friendly and efficient, although run off their feet, its a busy spot. Old world charm adds to the atmosphere.

Best whisky tasting in Cork. They do scheduled tastings but you can just walk in any time and get a curated flight. There’s a good chance Rory or Finley will be working and you’ll get a 5 star experience complete with tasting notes and a little bit of history of the whiskeys you end up choosing. They have a lot of ones to choose from.

I came here with my friend just to experience the true Irish pub and try Guinness and I'm very happy with my choice ✨ Never before have I experienced such a warm welcome from the customer service staff ☺️
