The Silver Oak in Athlone

The food here is good, just normal North Indian food and South Indian curries but the service and atmosphere is great. Very friendly staff and great ambiance makes the dinner worthwhile and the food is good just not anything extra ordinary. Highly recommend for when you’re in Athlone.

Had a take out as the restaurant was close to closing. Pri es reasonable. Food was excellent. Had the chicken biriyani and chicken chilli masala with chapati. Best curry sauce to accompany the biriyani I've had in a long time - usually watery but this was thick and delicious. Biriyani cooked well. Chili chicken was spicy and went well with the chapati. All in all a good Indian meal. Recommended!

Stopped here for a curry last week. Service was great. Had a few dishes and all were tasty! Cobra on draft which is always a bonus!

First time been to this Indian restaurant. Greeted by a nice lady. Nice music in the background. Free popudums and sauces.food was piping hot, hubby had the chicken madras and I had chicken balti. Chips and peshwari were lovely and was very filling. The only thing I could say is the balti could have abit more spices and peppers and I did find the chicken wasn't tender enough then I would have enjoyed it abit more which I addressed to one member of staff,but overall not a bad place.

Have regularly got takeaway from here and the food is good. However, had a strange interaction with the delivery driver today. After dropping off the food, he ran over to a neighbour's house and started pulling roses off of their rose bush and then, with a bunch in hand, ran back to his car. Has turned me off this restaurant completely.
