Unbelievable food always go there when in Waterford

It is very dark inside the restaurant

The food was delicious, as was the welcome. If there's no seating available, you can wait at the bar with a drink. The hygiene in the restrooms and toilets is very poor. Ugh! You can try not to touch anything, but it's also very cramped, making it nearly impossible.

Stopped for an overnight in our camper. They were warm and welcoming and opened at 9 for a fabulous breakfast

Came across this gem of a bar restaurant when travelling back from cycling the greenway. It was a Wednesday evening and the first thing I noticed was it was full of locals eating which is a great sign. Food was delicious and great value for money, , staff were excellent. Background music was perfect , not too high and not too low. … I knew all the songs and felt myself humming along while waiting for my food , a sign I was in a happy place .

Proper old Irish pub, decent food. 😋

Visited on a busy Bank Holiday Monday and the food was excellent. Turkey and ham, roast beef and cottage pie all absolutely delicious. Star dropped just because of very long waiting times, first to be seated , then to have the order taken and then for the food to arrive which we really weren't expecting for a carvery lunch. To be honest, it was frustrating but we all agreed that when the food arrived it was well worth waiting for! Appreciate the staff were all doing their best on a very busy day but my suggestion would be for them to let people know clearly upon arrival roughly how long they can expect to be waiting. Then customers can either choose to go elsewhere if they are under a bit of time pressure (like we were!) or to relax and enjoy the wait.

Food was nothing special and the place was quite dirty.

Sweep Bar Kilmeaden Located on the N25 in Kilmeaden just outside Waterford City. Plenty of parking is available outside, including designated disabled spaces. , and the entire premises is wheelchair accessible. A Traditional Irish Pub. It retains its traditional feel with thatched roof and traditional decor.inside without feeling like a theme pub. Very comfortably furnished, and although I have only ever really been here for food and not drinks, I would imagine that it is a comfortable bar for a drink after the food service has finished. The service here is good. The staff are quick and efficient, in getting you seated, menus handed out, taking orders and bussing tables. The Sweep can get very busy at peak times, a testament to their great food offering. Good quality ingredients and plentiful, representing good value for money. There is a great selection of menu items for both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast offers the traditional fry, but also, pancakes,scrambled eggs, ommlettes, scones. Something for everyone (except those that like Granola) Their lunch offering is as varied with the traditional fayre of a roast dinner to steak sandwiches , and seafood options, with daily specials. The prices here are average, but you do get a good meal for your money, so definitely good value here.

Once again fabulous food , well done to Donald, jack and all the kitchen staff excellent food . To Lisa, and all the front of house staff excellent service. High recommend this brilliant restaurant.
