The Tan Yard in Killarney

Favourite spot for dinner in Killarney by a long shot! Very high quality food - it's hard to find perfectly cooked scallops locally but I finally found them here. Fairly priced, friendly staff, and its easy to book tables and find the menu online. They had a few specials for Valentine's day including cocktails, might be a regular thing for special days and holiday? I ordered the scallops starter and the salmon main last time I was here and would highly recommend both. Great view of Killarney highstreet if you manage to get the nice seats by the windows!

Where to start, decor is amazing connected to a lovely hotel, booked in for a late dinner and met with an amazing front of house lady who sat us and talked us through the nightly specials, a cracking start. I suppose it couldn’t get any better than that we thought and boy were we right, our server scoffed when we didn’t want starters, mind you the steaks we ordered were 38 and 45 euro, almost like two sides of the same coin, one steak was amazing, the other dry and over cooked, the server seemingly done with the night forgot items ordered and wore his frustrations on his face, it almost seemed like we interrupted him whenever we needed something. I would return but maybe earlier on in the evening when staff are less tired. Drinks 10/10, dessert lovely.

pleasantly surprised with how tasty their food was and customer service was great! 4 star for atmosphere is because our table was right smack in the middle of foot traffic. we requested to be transferred but unfortunately they were fully booked that night. nonetheless, we all enjoyed our dinner.

Great food. Nice portions and amazing deserts! We had chocolat fondant, the vegan desert and yuzu cake that definitely topped the diner. They have a nice wine selection. Lower note on the manager that seemed irritated at first but that took better care of us afterwords. Update the next day : we all were sick. I don’t know what happened but all 3 of us got sick.

Very good restaurant, hearty and tasty meals. Very friendly waiter and warm atmosphere.

Ella was amazing! She was so attentive and knowledgeable about the food. The steak was delicious and the atmosphere on Nye was perfect. Thank-you for helping making our wedding anniversary trip so special!

Lovely restaurant great food decent price

Great food, excellent value and the staff and ambience are fantastic. Definitely a must go for dinner!

Had a meal here with my partner on the evening of 13th December. We didn't have a booking and just chanced our arm getting one considering its the week before Christmas, but the girl on the door was SO accommodating and welcoming. She made the whole experience even more memorable as herself and her team really looked after us. People can be quite picky with tables but in The Tanyard I don't think there is any "bad" table. The whole place is fabulous and there's a lively vibe around it. There clearly is a lot of thought put into every detail around this intimate, warm restaurant. I absolutely loved the decor! We enjoyed a pint of beer and a glass of delicious Shiraz with the most gorgeous homemade selection of breads, served with olives and various dips. We were raving about the focaccia and tomato butter! Next up, we shared the chorizo & manchego croquette, which too was divine and something I would return for in itself. For mains, I got the venison while himself had the duck - both served with a portion of beautifully buttery mashed potato. I rarely can finish my mains, but I couldn't leave any part of this behind, it was so tasty. Empty plates all around, an exquisite, 10/10 experience that I will be sharing with friends and family for years to come. Looking forward to my next visit already!
