Yesterday, 17/11/2025, my partner and I were camping in our camper van in front of the restaurant. We went to order takeaway food and received excellent service! They are very friendly, pleasant people and it's a pleasure to meet people like that. The food was very good!

Wow! My monkfish was amazing!! Sorry for the picture, but I don’t alway leave reviews, but I HAD to after eating this delicious fried monkfish! The garlic parsley aioli was amazing. Highly recommend!!! Everyone at our table is arguing over who had the best meal. The vegetable soup of the day was also delicious!

I just read the last 12 months of reviews. Some people just need to complain! Smh... My wife and I have been in the restaurant business for over 40 yrs each, and the Tankard stands out as an amazing meal. The cauliflower and pate' apps were excellent. The turbot and sole were equally delectable- each with local potatoes, of course... Muireann was an excellent server. She was funny, efficient and a joy to talk to. There was also a young lady at the register- chef knife tattoo on her forearm- was also very nice to deal with.

Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality and excellent service during my partner’s birthday celebration at The Tankard. We truly appreciated the warm atmosphere and the attention to detail that made the evening so special. I look forward to returning to the restaurant again very soon!

30/11/2025: Super friendly, helpful staff. Excellent food in the Wildflower cafe! Well cared for, and presented plants at Aboritum quality but at affordable prices. A visit here is a must and it won't break the bank. Highly recommended!!

07/11/2025: My friends and I stayed at Ballymaloe House for a yoga retreat. We had a fabulous time and absolutely loved it! They served cake every day at 3pm, meals were farm to table and wonderful! They had craft made cocktails that were to die for. They even gave me the recipe for the Fig Sour drink they make with fresh figs. By the end of the retreat they had to make about 20 Fig Sours because we were all drinking them! I had a delightful room, and I think I perused the goods at the store every single day. The people at Ballymaloe House KNOW hospitality! I raise my Fig Sour to you!
