The Trough in Wexford

I don’t think 5 stars is high enough for this coffee shop! I am a serious coffee nerd and am very picky when it comes to where I buy a coffee from and I have to say this place is probably the best coffee I’ve had in Ireland, and trust me I’ve tried hundreds of coffee shops. We came here on the first day of our trip to Wexford and we ordered an iced coffee, a cortado and a cinnamon bun, all so good we had to order seconds. We came back the next day for brunch and I got the trough eggs with bacon and he got the breakfast bap! Both massive portions and so unbelievably tasty and we each got cortados, we ordered a second cortado each because they are truly just that good! The staff are so kind and chatty and always so helpful! They are so sweet! Finally I just want to comment on the interior of the shop, it is beautiful and rustic, and this theme is seen throughout everything including dishes you’re served in and the seating areas! I live in Dublin where there are many amazing coffee shops but I know I will think about this place once I leave!

Had a delicious breakfast here. Family of 6 and both the adult and kids menus were excellent. Perfect portion sizes, great service.

absolutely unreal. the food was MM so good. i thought the gravy was a crazy addition, until i tried it and it all made sense. the staff are lovely, got served fairly quick, just all around, a really good experience. they also got some of the best matcha lattes i’ve had in a while. beautiful spot, definitely would love to come here again

I love this restaurant. Really good quality food served all day. A lovely modern restaurant, great menu, not cheap but good value for money. Healthy food and plenty of it prepared well. I had poached eggs and avocado on country bread. It was affordable and delicious. The coffee is still at pre Christmas prices too. Most coffee shops are over charging for coffee theses days .. I've seen it at Insignia and Costa for E4.50 and E4 30 per small size respectively. The Trough still charges E3.40 which is a big saving. Lovely views of the harbour too. And very nice staff. I love it and highly recommend this restaurant/ coffee shop.

They got my order wrong, but overall, it was a great experience The food was delicious, and the portions were very generous. Staff were friendly. They offered free water too.
