The Whale's Tail in Clonakilty

Fabulous meal here last night with my friend, Staff are so friendly and helpful and the food was amazing, We had the turkey amd ham it was melt in the mouth and the dessert s out if this world,Thanks Danny for looking after us so well.Highly reccomended and decorated beautifully for Christmas.

We moved to the Clonakilty area in October and it was very nice - especially on a Sunday night - to get a booking in this surprisingly busy restaurant. Welcome and service was great, calm and professional. Food was very good despite - or because of - a relatively limited menu. Good fish dishes, and decent Gyoza starter (sweet sauce unnecessary) and I saw a lot of very good looking steaks come out of the open kitchen also. Wine list is short and limited - it could do with a creative makeover. Will definitely return, it was a warm and pleasant experience. Probably better for small groups (3-6 people) rather than intimate couples. Great success, kudos to the lovely staff and chefs/cooks. West Cork rocks.

Really good meal & drinks with a beautiful atmosphere. Cocktails are 14€ which is a bit high but overall very good service.

Delicious food all round. Highly recommend the duck and the beef featherbone.

Called in on a Sunday evening with young kids. Service was excellent. Our waitress was great with the kids, and the seafood linguine was a 10/10. We will be back.

Myself and my wife, had a gorgeous meal in the whales tail restaurant in Clonakilty on the 14/09/24. We had amazing food and the atmosphere was excellent. Also the staff were so professional and friendly. Would highly recommend for a night out.

This is a superb place to eat. Atmosphere is enjoyable. Food is fantastic. Staff are absolutely brilliant and it is very very reasonable. You book in advance and get 2 hours to enjoy your meal.
