We attended the Wicklow Heather last night and can't recommend it highly enough. It was Culture night and they had a wonderful event being run in the beautiful Writer's Room. An oasis for anyone passionate about literature, full of first editions from Ulysses to Dracula. The well established actor/writer Jack Walsh was performing. He provided a background of various Irish writers including Yeats, Wilde, O'Casey amongst others. He gave a wonderful synopsis of various plays and read some beautiful poetry from Potrait of an Artist, Dorian Gray to Plough and the Stars. He also gave us a fascinating background of their journey in life. There was a bit for everyone whether you are a novice or a literary fan.
It was a set course meal with some bubbles to start with and ended with the Irish digestif, a delicious Irish coffee. The food was amazing, the food was cooked to perfection. David the manager and he's staff are super friendly, professional. The service was impeccable. A lovely way to spend an afternoon in the Writer's Room or as an alternative for a company team event etc. Thanks again, I will definitely be back soon. Great for couples, groups and the solo travellers 😍

Turned up without a booking on a Tuesday evening. Couldn't sit in the very atmospheric dinning area so we're put in the additional seating area, thought it might not have any atmosphere but it soon filled up so did! Tasty food, well presented and lovely friendly waiting staff. Thanks

We didn't have a reservation. Nevertheless, we received a warm welcome and were seated in a stylish adjoining room, which we enjoyed even more than the main room.
The food was above average, the wine list extensive, the service attentive and friendly, and the prices were reasonable for what was offered, although some might disagree at €8-10 for a 0.175l glass of wine.

The food was absolutely delicious, each dish prepared with care and flavor. The staff was incredibly welcoming and professional, making the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere of the place is simply magical, a true interlude out of time. A special thank you to Avinash, who was exceptional: very attentive, helpful, and attentive to every detail to ensure we had a perfect time.

Absolutely delicious! We stopped in after going to Glendalough hiking for coffee, hot chocolate, and dessert. The staff was wonderful, even though they were clearly very busy and the Apple crisp was delicious! Highly recommend going to eat there.

We arrived quite late, just before closing time. We still received a very friendly welcome and were able to enjoy a meal without ticket restrictions! The service was very quick, friendly, and professional. Special thanks to waitress Mansha and her husband Prav behind the bar! The interior is cozy and the music is pleasant and played at a good volume in the background!
The non-alcoholic orchard cocktail is definitely recommended!

We stumbled on the way out of Glendelaugh, and had dessert and hot drinks. Great desserts (Warm apple pie and custard). Service great. It is busy, so expect that type of environment.

A lovely restaurant! The food is delicious, a great atmosphere and interesting history. Especially in the writers room.
Our service was excellent and everyone working there was friendly. Avinash, our waiter, had great recommendations for both wine pairings and how to approach our hike for the next day, it was a great overall experience.
