The Wicklow Heather in Laragh

I ate dinner there twice in September and both times it was very good. The service was quick and friendly, the atmosphere was charming, and the food and drinks were delicious and served at the perfect temperature. The only slight downside, which I've unfortunately experienced at a few other restaurants as well, was that tiny flies also seem to like the restaurant and frequently visit your table.

Was lucky enough to return to The Wicklow Heather over Halloween wend, for lunch and dinner. Rarely does food and service grt full marks but it certainly does in this wonderful old restaurant. The staff in particular were fantastic, recommending great wines and even a lovely local rose gin. Highly recommended, hope to visit soon again

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely Dinner at Wicklow Heather Restaurant We enjoyed a nice dinner at Wicklow Heather Restaurant near Glendalough. Overall, we had a very good experience with some delicious food. My leg of lamb was absolutely delicious, and the corned beef was also very nice. Our son loved his garlic bread with cheese so much that he asked for another portion! 😊 The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the fish chowder. Unfortunately, my bowl seemed to contain mainly white sauce with potatoes and carrots, but no visible pieces of fish. A fish chowder should have fish in it! A little suggestion for the chef: please make sure there are some nice pieces of fish in the chowder next time! 😉 Apart from that, we enjoyed our meal and appreciate the good dishes we were served. With a little improvement to the chowder, this could easily be a 5-star experience. Thank you for a lovely dinner! 👏

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A wonderful experience from beginning to end! We arrived without a reservation, but the lovely staff kindly found us a table. The service was excellent, and everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, beautifully prepared, and the atmosphere was simply charming. The restaurant is surrounded by stunning scenery, making the whole experience even more special. A perfect place to enjoy great food, warm hospitality and beautiful surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would happily return. Highly recommended! ❤️

A magnificent inn, adorned with beautiful flowers typical of Irish facades. The setting is extraordinary, nestled between the Guinness Lake, Wicklow Falls, Sevenchurch Lake, and the old cemetery with all its charming little shops. The food was very good, and above all, their IPA is incredible. The waiter was actually French; it was funny to find a Frenchman in the middle of the Irish countryside! It's a lovely memory.

Really nice place but the food was poor. €22.50 for a ‘leg of lamb’ which was just slices of processed deli lamb meat. The turkey and ham was the same. Very cheap quality food well presented to justify the price. I’m sure the other stuff is great but don’t order the roast dinners they’re very poor, you get fresher stuff at a carvery.

The food was delicious. I would definitely return! Cozy and beautifully decorated. We ordered the wild irish game croquettes to share, steak, also ordered a Guinness and a Glendalough Whiskey Spell cocktail!

I highly recommend it! An authentic Irish spot for a Sunday roast or delicious traditional food. They also sell local whiskey, which I also recommend.

Theresa was wonderful! Definitely a must stop in the Glendalough area. Lamb stew melts in your mouth.
