03/11/2026: I ate dinner there twice in September and both times it was very good. The service was quick and friendly, the atmosphere was charming, and the food and drinks were delicious and served at the perfect temperature. The only slight downside, which I've unfortunately experienced at a few other restaurants as well, was that tiny flies also seem to like the restaurant and frequently visit your table.

02/11/2026: ⭐☆☆☆☆ Good food, but very poor service – second disappointing experience! This is the second time we have visited Wicklow Heather Restaurant, and unfortunately, we have had the same disappointing experience both times. We had to wait a very long time just to be seated. After that, we had to ask FOUR different waiters before someone finally came over to bring us a menu. The drinks took far too long to arrive, and some dishes were brought out before everything else. To make matters worse, we had to ask FIVE TIMES for the bill before it finally arrived. I want to be fair and say that the food is good, and I have no complaints about the quality. However, the way customers are treated and served leaves a lot to be desired. Good food is not enough if the service is so poor. Customers should feel welcome, valued and looked after, not ignored throughout the evening. Since this has happened on both of our visits, it seems to be an ongoing issue rather than a one-off bad experience. It is a real shame because the food has potential, but the service seriously lets the restaurant down. Unfortunately, based on these two experiences, I would think twice before returning.

21/10/2026: Theresa was wonderful! Definitely a must stop in the Glendalough area. Lamb stew melts in your mouth.

20/10/2026: Incredible atmosphere and decor. There's an air of both privacy and community in the place. Nice low-lighting and calm vibe. Great food; but the breakfast could do with a side of relish or something similar! Nice coffee and kind servers. A bit slow but could have just been a mistake. Will definitely be back!
