We had a lovely view of Liffey River, the staff were so helpful and friendly, and the food (sea bream and kale) was amazing!

What a place! Booked to go for dinner there this evening and everything which went in my mouth was phenomenal!!
Soup of the day was Pea & Mint with a slice of the same dark treacley bread that so many other Dublin eateries have. Also had a side of marinaded olives. Both dishes which were amazing, the soup was fragrant and fresh and silky smooth, and the bread! it was sooooo good (especially with a good layer of Irish butter).
Main meal was a pulled Lamb with Broad Beans, Peas and some kind of delicious Dumplings - probably a relation of Gnocci. My other half had Braised Pork Neck with Polenta, roast carrot and a Fennel Slaw. Washed down with some very tasty red wine.
It's a small place up a flight of narrow stairs, which sadly makes it all but inaccessible for those who are disabled, but it is one of the best places we have eaten in Dublin. Staff were really friendly, and everything we ate was beyond delicious.
Price wise, it's not especially cheap, some of their wine list is more than I would want to spend. However; 1 starter, 1 nibble (olives), 2 mains and 2 glasses of amazing red wine was under €100 (excluding tip), I really can't complain. It was worth every penny, real value for money.
Will definitely come back on my next trip to Dublin. You have to try it, it's fantastic!!

Staff here are hilarious and personable. I said I couldn’t possible need anything else except a person to roll me down the stairs. “That can be arranged.” was quipped without missing a beat from the wait staff. Hilarious.
The food was fantastic in flavor. You better get a reservation though!

A lovely restaurant with great views onto River Liffey. Highly recommend. It felt very sleek, without an ‘intimidation’ factor some restaurants have. Food was terrific xx would go again next time I’m in Dublin.

Delicious!
Wonderful family lunch here.
The restaurant is up a set of winding stairs (of course) from the street and overlooks the river. Pretty easy to find.
The staff were all wonderful and the food was delicious.
The wine pairing options for each meal were great. I was very pleased with the wine selection for my main course.
Highly recommend the scotch eggs. They were absolutely phenomenal.
Booking is essential, so make sure you book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Through the stairs you enter a cozy room with nice atmosphere and friendly staff! My dish was amazing and the wine recommendation with it was spot on. Nice view over the river.
Highly recommend!

Named after the Yeats poem, The Winding Stair, invites you to a cosy and homey atmosphere as you walk up the winding stairs from the bookshop, to the restaurant.
Not was the food impeccable, but the service and restaurant itself only alleviated the incredible dining experience!
