Thompsons Bar & Restaurant in Cork

We had a lovely meal here the Saturday evening of the Jazz weekend. The food was lovely as was the wine! Just a bit loud to be able to hear each other speak, felt like 6pm was 2am in a bar but that's acoustics, nothing to do with the food and service! Will be back

Didn't get exactly what we ordered. Ordered a rare steak, arrived medium to well done. Ordered mussels as a main portion, arrived as a started portion. Waiter was highly apologetic and did his best to rectify with complimentary glass of wine, but kitchens were obviously overwhelmed.

I came here for a birthday dinner and it was excellent. The food was exceptional, with very good presentation too. The staff were friendly as well and very nice.

Everything was super. service food wine. We’ll be back. Thanks a million!

Not if you want a hot meal. Steaks & sides sent back due to being cold. Came back cold but couldn’t be arsed to send back again as we were starving. Don’t get me wrong the food is wonderful but when there’s a big booking in your getting a cold meal. Need to do better here . Very disappointed even when we told the staff of our disappointment!

Top notch. Had steaks. Not cheap but certainly great for special dinner.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff and, good food. We had burgers, very tasty, just a little over cooked/firm. Very pleasant server. Nice authentic looking decor and efficient service.

Tres de nosotros llegamos y nos dijo el camarero que esperara en la recepción y el gerente nos cuidaría. Finalmente llegó sin ningún saludo. Le pregunté si tenía una mesa para tres. Preguntó si teníamos una reserva y le dije que no. Luego me dijo que me siguiera y nos llevó a una mesa. No hubo otra conversación con él. Absolutamente terrible servicio al cliente en todo momento de él. Claramente no sabía cómo tratar con el público y parecía que no quería estar allí. El camarero y las dos camareras con las que interactuamos eran encantadores. La comida estaba bien, pero definitivamente no volvería.
