Pompeii Pizza in Cork

A pizzeria that understands that more is not better.

First stop on a trip to Ireland in this pizzeria/bar (the 2 businesses seem to be merged), with a magnificent terrace! The place seems very busy, the pizzas are very good and accompanied by beers from the neighboring bar it's perfect!

Only pizza but good (for Ireland). Quick service from the order and eat series. Then go to the attached pub for beer. You sit down and have a nice evening. Better when playing

I you go to Franciscan Well for a beer (which I highly recommend) you gotta step out back and try one of Pompeii’s Pizzas. I don’t know if it’s the wood fire oven, a secret recipe or maybe just because you’re in Ireland but it’s some damn good pizza. Couldn’t decide which to get so as I normally do, I asked the pizza man for his recommendation. Nduja, yea that’s the one. Little bit of spice or kick to it. Sitting in Ireland drinking my Rebel Red and eating my wood fire oven pizza…… chit man, life is good. Give it a whirl and tell them the bald headed American sent ya!

I loved the food and the atmosphere

Hidden away in the beer garden of the Franciscan Well pub is a great little pizza spot that deserves to be tried when in Cork! Choose one of the many options (that include veggie and vegan options), have a seat with your pint from the pub and wait until the buzzer rings. Simple and delicious! The crust had a nice chew and a lovely charred flavour which I really enjoyed!

Delicious pizza with a lovely glass of malbec. We ate inside the pub which was kinda nicer than the beer garden. It was mental busy, but we got our pizza within 8 mins of ordering. We really enjoyed the music by the jazz trio. Superb value meal out in cork city!

Dropping my rating to 3 stars. This was my favourite pizza in Cork but the past few times the base of the pizza has been black, particularly on the bottom. Oven needs to be cleaned so the residue doesn’t burn and stick to the bottom. Hope it can be sorted soon.
