This is the best restaurant in Athlone. Expensive, but this is a different level of fine dining. Highly recommend for special occasion. Reservation required

I had dinner at Thyme Restaurant in Athlone, and it was an evening that genuinely stays with you. If you love food made with precision, heart, and real respect for ingredients, this is exactly the place to go. The meal started with a small amuse bouche and fresh bread that immediately set the tone simple, aromatic, and confident without being pretentious. For my starter, I had white sausage in a creamy sauce, along with little tartlets and a stuffed egg. Everything was beautifully executed, and each bite had its own character. The sausage was perfectly seasoned, and the sauce was silky and aromatic a classic done with finesse. My main course was the true highlight: venison. The meat was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. It came with cabbage and Parmesan potatoes, and the whole plate tasted like the comforting flavors I grew up with but elevated, refined, and restaurant-level. Familiar, yet impressive. For dessert, I had a light apple tart, fragrant and balanced, followed by something truly special: a chilled apple dessert wine. Together they were the perfect finale sweet, fresh, and beautifully harmonious. I also had a glass of Malbec, which paired wonderfully with the venison, and the apple wine felt like a dessert all on its own. The service was warm and attentive without ever being intrusive. The atmosphere was cozy, elegant, and relaxed. It was the kind of dinner that leaves you feeling genuinely happy. One of the best restaurants in Athlone. Highly recommended.

Very nice birthday meal here and they wished happy birthday and put candle in cake and happy birthday in chocolate sauce on the plate 😊

Esperienza eccellente e sublime. Locale piccolo, ma ben curato nell'arredamento e nel servizio. In cucina ben 5 chef che preparano piatti squisiti. Il menù proone solo 2 menu ma le opzioni tra cui scegliere sono varie. Se avessi potuto, ci sarei tornata almeno un'altra volta!!!

Excellente cuisine. Fine et inventive. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Menu à 45 euros (entrée, plat, dessert) d'une égale qualité.
