Trattoria Magnetti in Galway

I was so sad to see that the menu was changed and my favorite 2 pastas and ravioli are gone, they were the best I've ever tasted. Today I had to change my order for the ducks pasta it wasn't bad but it didn't have the taste of the last times i came. Such a shame and i am really sad this was my favorite restaurant in galway please bring the old menu back!

Wow, so glad we visited this restaurant, as it was delightful! We had planned on going to Milanos but as it was booked out, I found out this place was good for gluten free food, so I chanced it. I'm so glad we did, as it had so much more character than a chain restaurant. Both regular food and gluten free food was really good. The coeliacs had margherita and buffalini pizzas and ate every last bite, another had the mushroom pasta which was large and delicious. The regular folk had diavola pizza and a sausage pasta, again both delicious. For desserts we had a double chocolate mousse (SOOO good) and a gluten free chocolate cake which wasn't on the menu. The service here was great. I was delighted to have an actual Italian person serve me in an Italian restaurant! If I lived in Galway, I would be here regularly. Enjoy!

A good alternative to the other Italian restaurants, some of which are completely overcrowded and, in my opinion, can't be that much better if you have to wait over 30 minutes. We had bruschetta with fresh, crusty, warm bread and fresh tomatoes, followed by a pizza and ravioli, both of which were delicious.

A very fine Italian restaurant with Italian flair. The service was top-notch. Very attentive and polite. The pizza and risotto were delicious. The size of the dishes is just like in Italy. After eating a starter, main course, and dessert, you'll be completely full. The wine was also fantastic.

I just wanted to let you know what an amazing dinner we had at Magnetti's last week. We were supposed to dine at another restaurant but due to a family member being in a wheelchair they were unable to accommodate us. They called Magnetti's and asked if they could accommodate a wheelchair. Magnetti's took us immediately. The food, the service and the staff were amazing. I just wanted to say THANK YOU and I will recommend your restaurant to anyone in Galway or visiting Galway. My dad said this was the best meal he had in Ireland! : )

Delicious freshly made pasta dishes served in a welcoming and warm atmosphere. The interior decor of the restaurant is extremely inviting. Sadly the staff have to work on their customer service skills. We didn't feel they made us feel very welcome. Hardly any eye contact made when taking the order. Then after we had finished our freshly prepared pasta dishes our server walked off, must have forgotten we'd asked for the dessert menu, left us just sitting there for nearly 20 min and then just placed the bill on our table without engaging with us. We then got up and went to the till to pay. When we made the server aware of what happened we did not get much of an apology either and felt somewhat let down. We put this down to our server having a bad day. Please be better next time as the food served here is absolutely delicious.

Very good Italian restaurant with affordable prices. The pasta and pizzas are delicious, as are the pastries. The service is fast, and the waitresses offer good advice. I recommend it!

7 of us had a reservation here on a Friday evening. Staff were clearing a previous sitting but still should have made an effort to serve us! We had to go find someone for menus, then again to order our drinks. The waitress who served our drinks was lovely, but we again had to call someone to order our food. We had some bread and olives to share to start luckily, as our pizzas didn’t arrive until we had been in the restaurant for 90mins! The restaurant was not busy, and there seemed to be plenty of staff- but apart from the first waitress, none of them seemed happy to be there! The food itself was very good. I had a gluten free pizza with a very decent base (not guaranteed everywhere) and everyone else was very happy with theirs too. There is a wide selection of pizza toppings, but even so you can “build your own”. We also had excellent rosemary potatoes and a good mixed salad on the side. The pasta, risotto and grill menu looked interesting too. We didn’t stay for dessert as we had already been there for ages, and the final waitress was particularly surly.
