Trattoria Magnetti in Galway

Pretty good meal but not great context... An employee changing in the restaurant, an employee unpacking a purchase... But good location!

I have dined here about 3/4 times over the last 3-4 years, always impressed with the delicious food. A few recent reviews regarding service caught my eye.... Previously we have always gotten excellent service, but this weekend we did notice a difference. It was a good 15 minutes after we were seated before we were asked for our orders (in this time no one came by with water, asked for our drink order etc). We tried to flag down a waitress and she brushed us off, which we were a bit unsettled by. The waitress who looked after us was polite and friendly, but she seemed really busy. The original waitress actually came back and apologised to us for not being able to help, because she was so busy. We of course accepted her apology, and I actually have a lot of respect that she took the time to apologise to us, and she really seemed genuinely sorry. Once we got out order in service was mostly up to par. I truly think this is an issue with them being understaffed/an issue with upper management. The place was full and there was only 2 waitresses and the host, there needed to be at least another 2 servers on the floor for the amount of customers. Overall, the food was amazing as it always has been. I feel bad for the staff as they are clearly overwhelmed and understaffed, which I assume is what has contributed to some of the negative reviews recently. I'm hoping that management can sort this, mainly so that their lovely staff are not working under so much unnecessary pressure. One star has been taken off for this, but otherwise this is a 10/10 restaurant for me that I will continue to visit

The food was incredible. But dining alone or maybe everyone, they were very unfriendly to the point I almost left but I had ordered an entree. The food was delicious though! I won't ever go back though

Great small trattoria with delicious food. Our favourite place to eat when in Galway.

Food was good, but we waited 40 minutes for it. Pizza is usually prepared quickest in other restaurants.

I was there yesterday with my family, the treatment of the people was wonderful, very attentive and always attentive to what we needed. The food was very delicious, I recommend the pizzas, very tasty and good portions.

Friends found the spinach ravioli a bit lacking, pizza is fine.

Just had the best pasta dish I've ever had. Cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.

Reviewing for salthill. The food was ok. I had been here previously with work colleagues and came back with my son as a treat, the food was better last visit over a year ago. I ordered lasagne they had run out so ended up with carbonara. Son had soup. We also had garlic bread. The food was ok a bit bland. The bathrooms were disgusting last Sunday. There was a smell in corridor on way to them and inside floor was flooded. The stall itself was not cleaned. My coffee was ok and cup my son got for his tea was tiny and impossible to hold. The only saving grace was the trad music and the view of the sea. Maybe last Sunday was an off day as I mentioned last time food was a lot better and bathrooms were clean.
