Gorgeous dining experience! Waiters were so attentive and each course came out at a timely manner and each one as beautiful as the next. Oysters were fab and monkfish was lovely. Lovely and classy vibe to the restaurant. Highly recommend.

Brilliant atmosphere and great food. We sat at the bar for a drink before our meal. They have a nice pint of Guinness. They give you a complimentary cup of soup, we had butternut squash and coconut soup which was a treat. We started with oysters which were heavenly… The fish and chip was one of the best I’ve ever eaten… the chips were crispy but fluffy. The fish batter was so light and tasty. The lemon and lime baked Alaska plus the creme brulee to finish is a must! I would highly rate this one!!

Regular waiting staff who have been working here for years have a liaise fair attitude ! It is laid back service with 5 star prices. The management have lost the jest to communicate with their customers and this has a knock on effect with the overall restaurant experience. I hope you take this feedback constructively.

Firstly may i say dinner on saturday night (6th march) was superb first class in every way. All six of us went to bed very impressed by the standard. Next morning we arranged to have breakfast at 9.30. The service was very irratic, slow and the young lady seemed totally out of her depth. We eventually had our order taken and what was produced from the kitchen was nothing short of disgraceful. My wife ordered poached eggs and hash browns, what arrived was a cold oil soggy mess. 4 others ordered full irish breakfast which when arrived was even worse, the fried eggs on each plate were totally burned on the bottom and raw on top, i can still smell the burn! every other item on the plates was stone cold. We were given 2 slices of brown bread for 4 people and 2 slices of toast. We had to ask for more bread and it eventually arrived 10 minutes later. As a group of 6 we estemated we spent over 1000 euro and ended up with a very burned taste in our mouths.Wake up people and sort out your breakfast service by putting somebody professional in the kitchen

We spent the day at the Cliffs of Moher, afterwards looked for a place to have dinner. The outside of Vaughans Anchor Inn says pub/seafood and the inside said elevated dining! We did not have a reservation, but they graciously sat us anyway. There are not many tables, so it was intimate and cozy. We had a difficult time deciding what to order, as did the other patrons! I wanted to try everything, and our server said it could be arranged! Would be nice, but we settled on three appetizers of oysters, risotto, and scallops. Then for the mains we each picked a different dish to share. After drinks and an amuse-bouche, we tucked into some wildly outstanding dishes! Unfortunately, nobody in our family took any photos of food! We were too enwrapped in the culinary delight.

Joseph McHugh

10/04/2025: We ate here twice during our 9 day adventure and all 4 of us Ireland Travelers agreed that the food at Joseph McHugh's was the best. Best chowder, best bacon and cabbage. I especially enjoyed the smoked salmon appetizer.
06/04/2025: Cozy little pub, perfect for lunch after visiting the Cliffs. We were on a tight schedule and they were very quick to deliver our food, which was delicious! 🥰
