The Guinness is to die for (better than in the uk). Lovely quirky bar, friendly staff.

Great, old school boozer. Small, cosy, great pints and good craic. A great place to spend any amount of time!

A friend and I visited from Canada, and found ourselves in this pub on a whim. We were immediately welcomed with open arms and loved the camaraderie between locals and the bar staff. We spent hours chatting, listening to music, and laughing alongside some of the best. Thank you Cork, we WILL be back!

And you feel welcome, indeed! Tiny cramped place with a nice whiskey selection and very creamy Murphy. One of the few pubs in town that open early in the morning. Check the schedule for live music in the evenings.

A very nice pub that lives up to its name: welcoming and friendly, we stopped by on St. Patrick's Day for a beer while waiting for the parade, it was a nice little moment!

Bierhaus

02/08/2026: Fantastic pub with amazing selection of ales and beers 🍻 highly recommended 🙌🏻🫶🏻
01/08/2026: I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Bierhaus, situated on Pope's Quay in Cork. As an enthusiast of both local history and fine beverages, I found this establishment to be a remarkable addition to the city's vibrant hospitality scene. Established in 2006, it has clearly cemented its reputation as a premier destination for craft beer. The primary draw of The Bierhaus is, unequivocally, its extraordinary selection of libations. The sheer volume and variety are staggering, boasting over 220 beers. This includes an impressive 30 draught taps, with a commendable 24 rotating guest lines, alongside a cask option. It is a veritable haven for those seeking to explore beyond the standard offerings. The curation of the beer menu is exceptional. It provides a comprehensive representation of Irish craft brewing, featuring independent producers such as Kinnegar, The White Hag, and 9 White Deer. Furthermore, the international selection is robust, encompassing everything from established European classics like Budvar and Erdinger to cutting-edge craft brands and a strong showing of Belgian ales. For those with a penchant for other spirits, the back bar also houses a very decent whisky collection. What truly elevates the experience at The Bierhaus, however, is the standard of service. The staff are not merely servers but knowledgeable guides. Faced with such a vast array of choices, it would be easy to feel overwhelmed. Yet, the personnel demonstrate a genuine passion for their product and an impressive ability to direct patrons towards a beer that will suit their specific palate. Their recommendations are thoughtful and precise, ensuring that every selection is a successful one. The atmosphere strikes a careful balance, operating as a dedicated beer specialist bar while remaining accessible to a more mainstream crowd. While the décor reflects a late-2000s US craft influence, with its long bar and brewery signage, the focus remains firmly on the quality of the beverages. It is a place conducive to both quiet appreciation of a complex stout and convivial conversation over a crisp pilsner. In conclusion, The Bierhaus offers a superlative experience for anyone with a serious interest in beer. The combination of an unparalleled selection and expert, attentive staff makes it an essential destination in Cork. I highly recommend a visit.
