I was in town for buisness and spot this nice place. Got a simple anerican and a pastry. Such a cute olace. Nice service and good choice of pastry. They looked hugh and taste great. Also the coffee was great. Price are ok for these sizes.

Always visit Westgate for food and a browse but was so disappointed when I visited there last month with my grandson who has a serious nut allergy. Unfortunately the staff couldn’t guarantee that there would be no cross contamination with the foods and also no nut free foods on the menu could be seen either. Such a pity as I brought his mum and siblings in too so we all had to leave.

Hands down the best pastry in town. Fresh and proper. Walked all town to find a good pastry and found it here. First visit got a cinnamon twist: very tasty and crunchy. Second: got a chocolate croissant, very delicious, fresh, and crunchy. And got a coconut latte. Third: apple bun, okay so so. Would definitely recommend. Unfortunately they close on Sundays which is a real bummer

Vine

22/10/2026: I bring about 8-12 people to Vine for 5.30pm dinner, several times per year. It's the one place that fills up immediately, when I put it up on my Walking & Social group as an event. The portions are generous and everyone is very happy with their food. A couple of us are vegans and vegetarians, so the place is ideal for that also as it serves lots of tofu options as well as the usual foods. Other restaurant could learn a lot from them. Not surprisingly it is always busy, so I book it months ahead.
12/10/2026: Loved our visit here. Delicious food, authentic flavours served by friendly professional people. Loved the ambiance and decor, a real treat. This is the standard I expect for the pricing at this level. Thank you to all who made it special for us.

Trimmers Lane Cafe

19/09/2026: We went there in the afternoon, when pancakes weren't served anymore, unfortunately, so we opted for chowder. And what a chowder it was. It's made to order, so you have to wait a bit, but the portion is huge, full of fish, and served with soda bread. Highly recommended.
09/09/2026: Great food (though for our non-Irish tastes, the Caesar dressing needs considerably more lemon juice and garlic).
