They don't take card probably to avoid tax, staff are grumpy and food is alright. They need to get with the times and take card

Wharton’s Chipper in Bantry serves really lovely food – fresh, well cooked, and definitely the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the service could be a bit nicer, as it felt somewhat unfriendly. Overall, great food, but a warmer attitude from staff would make the experience much better, but in saying that I would go back because the food was so nice

Best 'Fresh' Fish & Chips in Bantry town. Never disappointed, also you can sit down & relax when life gives you lemons too! Always Clean Oil, Fresh Batter even a widescreen TV couldn't ask for any better! These girls definitely work hard to deliver such Top Quality Food !! 😋

Perfect fish and chips shop, run by the loveliest ladies. All fish is freshly caught. They are most proud of their product- and rightly so!

16/11/2025: Me and my uncle were visiting from Belgium and were really looking forward to a nice chicken chow mein. We’re used to the European-style version — grilled, well-seasoned chicken with some soy flavour and crisp vegetables. Unfortunately, the chow mein we received here in Bantry was nothing like that. It was more like a wet, sloppy roast dinner, very soft and gooey, and after a few bites we just couldn’t eat it. I’m genuinely sorry to say it, but it was really disappointing.
