Best 'Fresh' Fish & Chips in Bantry town. Never disappointed, also you can sit down & relax when life gives you lemons too! Always Clean Oil, Fresh Batter even a widescreen TV couldn't ask for any better! These girls definitely work hard to deliver such Top Quality Food !! 😋

Cold, bleak, poor service but fish and chips were good.

Perfect fish and chips shop, run by the loveliest ladies. All fish is freshly caught. They are most proud of their product- and rightly so!

I had the fish and chips, which were really good . The chips were made from"real" potato!

Very clean and as others have said, cash only. Quite pricey, would think they’d do a deal with a drink included. Fish was tasty but midway through the meal I got an aftertaste off the batter which wasn’t pleasant. Chips were lovely. Only huge issue was that they played The Gypsy Kings song - Bamboleo on a loop. Heard it about 7-8 times whilst in the shop. Customers were laughing with each other but it became very annoying, very fast.

Food was lovely, shame about the staff one in particular is so rude and why they have a sign across the seating area I don't know. We wanted to eat in but with the way we were treated glad we didn't. I wouldn't have felt comfortable she was that rude and confrontational just because I misheard her. Horrible experience

Huge minus as the place is Cash Only. This is the year 2025. Cash Only should not really exist anymore; such an inconvenience. Fish n Chips ok quality, and they charge 2,50€ more for tartar sauce which is a given in other places. The fish burger is outstanding and half the price (9€) of the Fish n Chips (18€ without tartar sauce) so I would go for more fish burgers next time.

We came all the way from Cork City to try this place because of the amazing reviews. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very average at best. First Impressions Something important to note: nowhere did we see it advertised (online) that the shop is cash only and takeaway only. We rarely carry cash and pay for almost everything by card, so this was a minor inconvenience right from the start. When I went in to place my order, 1 cheese and garlic fries, 1 battered sausage, and 1 fish & chips with tartar sauce, the total came to €32. I asked the lady if I could have the chips extra crispy, and she replied, quite abruptly, "They come out the way I give them out." To be fair, she looked extremely stressed, but I still found that response a bit rude. That said, when the order was ready, she seemed to relax, smiled, and wished me a lovely evening. The Food Battered Sausage: Bland, with a heavy batter. Fish: Definitely not fresh, it tasted floury and like it had been frozen for quite a while. The batter was heavy as well. This may be a matter of personal preference, but I prefer a lighter, flakier batter. Chips: Phenomenal. Crispy, well-cooked, and full of fresh potato flavour. They tasted handmade (though I can’t say for certain) and were easily the highlight of the meal. Even the mayo and tartar sauce tasted as though they might be homemade, if not, they were at least a premium brand. Portions: Very generous, though the price is also on the higher side. Overall Conclusion The fish was below average and the batter not to my liking (though others might feel differently). The chips were outstanding, and the sauces were excellent. The sausage was unfortunately bland. Final Rating: 2.5/5
