03/01/2026: The food itself is fine, but the behaviour of the owner/boss was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. She openly spoke negatively about members of her staff to other employees, criticising them behind their backs. What made this worse was hearing her place blame on staff despite an obvious lack of proper training, which ultimately reflects poor management. This behavior reflects badly on the business as a whole and is very off putting to hear as a customer. Good food doesn’t make up for poor management and disrespectful treatment of staff. I hope the owner reflects on this, as professionalism and basic respect for employees are essential.
16/12/2025: Golden Elephant in Douglas is a fantastic spot for authentic Thai food with a simple, flavourful menu.
The Tom Yum soup is outstanding and full of bold taste.
The spicy peppercorn wok fry and ginger tofu & veg stir-fry are absolutely delicious.
Udon noodles were perfectly cooked and very satisfying.
The food is worth every penny.

24/12/2025: Food is okay, atmosphere is very nice. There are plenty of car park spaces outside. Both waiter and waitress are friendly and welcoming.
Starter: Pork & crab roll (average)
Main: Chicken Khao Soi (noodles) & Pork wonton with barbecue pork ball (soup) - recommended
Dessert: Ube ice-cream + Namkhaeng Sai - recommended

08/12/2025: Unfortunately, for a place called Soba house, this has to be the worst yakisoba I've ever had. It doesn't have any actual flavor. It's just...sauce. But bland sauce. The fried chicken is also really poorly done, and unfortunately, a couple of mine were raw in the middle.
All in all, not worth it. Which sucks because I was told this place used to be good. Guess not anymore.

14/01/2024: Kubos closed towards the end of 2023 with zero notice to their loyal customers when they shut their doors - either in store, on social media, or online. They eventually put a sheet of A4 paper on their window to say that the establishment was undergoing refurbished and will be open again soon. Shocked to see its now gone and another generic taco chain has opened in its place. Horribly disappointing professionalism by the owner of Kubos on the run up to their exit from Douglas after all these years

20/04/2025: Pedido szechuan de ternera y albóndigas a través de comida para llevar. La comida era increíble. Lleno de sabor y muy fresco. Gran calidad. Sin duda volveré a pedir.
26/01/2025: Era una orden de Deliveroo. Tortitas de pato: las tortitas están crudas sin sugerencia de que necesiten cocción.
Las costillas de sal y pimienta están secas y exageradas.
Desperdicio total de dinero.

09/05/2025: At 65y , I have had many Chicken Curries, but, Asia Gourmet is the best.
My Husband had House Special in Oyster Sauce and the selection of perfect meat was unreal. Well done 👏
