21/08/2025: I had the chance to try a Chinese takeaway just outside Dublin yesterday, and it turned out to be a great find.
I went for the meal deal, which came with chicken curry, rice, and prawn toast. The curry had the perfect level of spice with a generous amount of tender chicken. The prawn toast was crisp and tasty, pairing really well with the meal.
I also tried the Szechuan shrimp, which was full of flavor and came with plenty of shrimp, noodles, and fresh vegetables. Everything was well-cooked and nicely balanced.
Overall, a very satisfying experience and definitely a spot worth revisiting for quality Chinese takeaway.

08/09/2025: Genuinely the best roast Cantonese duck I have ever tasted - and I have been to countless Asian restaurants around the world! In genreal they have gorgeous food bursting with flavour. Super friendly staff. Lovely lighting and vibe.

12/09/2025: Very disappointed by the quality (or the lack of it) of the food and the subsequent level of service.
I ordered sweet and sour king prawn dish to have at home. When I opened the box, a very strong smell of vinegar hit me. When I tasted the dish, the vinegar taste was even worse.
Everyone in the house made the same comment about the smell.
I phoned Dragon Boat and explained my issue.
I was told that the operator tasted the sweet and sour sauce and that there was nothing wrong with the dish and he was not willing to make another portion or a different type of dish for me. He was simply not interested to resolve the issue but to only get me off the phone.
I reiterated the fact that if I was dining in, I would not have paid for something I do not consider of acceptable standard.
And yet, with a very arrogant tone of voice and without a hint of an apology, the worker told me he would not be doing anything for me as if everyone starts complaining, the restaurant would not be in business.
Tonight, my consumer rights have not been respected and I am sharing my experience so people know what to expect ftom the staff in Drsgon Boat, Kilcock i.e. either hope for the best or stay hungry.

15/09/2025: I’ve been to this Cantonese restaurant twice now and both visits were exceptional. The food is delicious. The service is attentive and makes you feel genuinely welcome. The whole experience is outstanding. I can’t wait to go back again.

21/02/2025: Food was lovely with previous owner's, and I have to say I taught it got better with the new owner's, very tasty, that is, when they get your order correct, 2 delivery's in a row now, they sent out a munchie box with no seasoning at all, very bland and tasteless, we ordered online and stated clearly to make sure it had plenty of seasoning, please try and get your customers orders correct, you obviously need someone who can read English and understand the orders, they did offer to send a free one the next time we order, which is something I suppose, I guess we will have to wait and see if the seasoning is included, it's not a munchie box without seasoning in my opinion unless that's what your into.....🤦 i will have no problem upgrading my review in time if our orders are as placed, thanks

01/07/2025: Over two years, I was used to ordering food here, and the food was very delicious. But nowadays the food is worse: overcooked rice, chicken soup which is just water with soy sauce, and overcooked noodles. The food doesn't have a good taste. I don't know if there is a new chef, but the food is not good like it used to be before. (This was six years ago.) Update: After six years, I decided to give them a try to see if they changed chefs again, and they probably did, but to an even worse one... I ordered chicken noodles with Sichuan sauce, and I got tasteless chicken with noodles and sauce tasting like ketchup. 🤢And the chicken soup still tastes just like water with soy sauce. The food went straight to the rubbish bin... I am shocked how somebody can sell this.🤯
27/06/2025: Up to now, would have given at least 4 stars. Waited over an hour before ringing about my delivery. I was a bit taken aback at the way I was spoken to, on the phone. I was told that my order had been delivered. I wouldn't have been ringing if it had. 🤷♀️ The food arrived eventually. Lukewarm. I threw most of it in the bin. I won't be ordering again.

10/08/2025: We were in Calverstown/Kilcullen last week, staying at a local B&B, & searching for some good Chinese food. We must've driven up & down the main road of Kilcullen a few times, in search of restaurants, before we saw the sign above the doorway 🤓
✅️ Food was ok
Portions were smaller than expected. "Long tray" description in the menu was misleading, as we were expecting a bigger size, good enough to feed 6 adults.
We ordered the:
• Shredded Crispy Chicken
• House Special Chowmein (long tray)
• House Special Fried Rice (long tray)
• Sweet & Sour Pork
• Salty & Spicy Chips (french fries)
As we didn't dine there, we didn't get to enjoy or see the ambiance of the dining room. Service of the girls at the reception counter was adequate though. Helpful & efficient.

15/07/2025: Extremely Disappointing Second Visit – Serious Food and Service Concerns
We’ve just come home from our second visit to Korean Royal City in Maynooth. Our first experience was great – the food was fresh, the service was warm, and everything ran smoothly, which is why we were happy to return. Unfortunately, tonight was the complete opposite and has left us deeply disappointed and genuinely concerned.
One of the main dishes – my partner’s chicken – was absolutely not fit for consumption. It was clearly not fresh, tasted off, and was extremely dry. When the waitress asked how everything was, I politely and quietly said one of the meals was not good — the chicken wasn’t fresh and tasted off. I made a point of saying this discreetly, as another diner had just arrived at the table beside us. Instead of reading the room and handling it professionally, she continued to dispute it openly, making the other diners visibly uncomfortable as they ate. It was embarrassing and entirely avoidable.
When it came time to pay, we explained again that we wouldn’t be paying for the inedible dish. She offered 10% off the item — about €1 — which felt dismissive given the seriousness of serving potentially spoiled chicken. I explained this wasn’t acceptable and that the dish needed to be removed from the bill entirely. She refused, would not call a manager, and said the chef refused to come out.
She then claimed her boss was away for a month having surgery and there was no manager on duty — effectively, no one in charge. In the end, she would only take half the dish off, and we were forced to pay €72.50. She insisted she didn’t have the authority to do more.
Other issues that added to the experience:
We had to ask for basic things like napkins and glasses.
There was no lighting in the bathrooms.
No music, no ambiance at all.
Card payment wasn’t available due to “no WiFi,” and we were told we had to pay cash — something we found highly suspicious.
The most worrying part is that we now sincerely hope we don’t become unwell after tasting that chicken.
We rarely complain and always try to be fair — our first visit here was lovely, and that’s why we came back. But this experience was unprofessional, uncomfortable, and potentially unsafe. We’ll be contacting the Food Safety Authority and awaiting a call from the manager or owner.
