09/05/2025: Opening hours advertised on their own website as being open until 9:30 pm. Order placed for collection within that time and accepted. Then get a phonecall stating the hours have changed and they cant update their website until September?? Manager was extremely rude. Another customer lost. Final straw with the crap service of Lotus
04/05/2025: I recently visited this restaurant while in Wexford to attend a production at the National Opera House. As we were short on time, we ordered a small takeaway for three people — just two portions of chips and two sauces — and asked if we could sit briefly at a table to eat before heading to the theatre. The restaurant was quiet at the time, with only two other tables occupied. One of the staff kindly said it was no problem for us to sit (we were only going to be 10–15 minutes). However, shortly after we began eating, a different waitress approached with a noticeably unfriendly manner and told us we couldn’t eat a takeaway on the premises. When we explained that her colleague had said it was fine, she reacted rudely, rolling her eyes, huffing and walking away. A manager then came over and insisted we leave, stating that “the owners would give out to them”. This not only created an awkward situation for us but also made the staff appear unprofessional and undermined the colleague who had originally been accommodating. It was disappointing to be made feel unwelcome, especially after a simple and polite request. We ended up eating outside on the street, which wasn’t ideal. For context, the small order came to nearly €25, which felt expensive for what we received. Unfortunately, based on this experience — both the poor communication and the bad attitude shown — I wouldn’t be inclined to return.
